Good morning Jane, it was a most enjoyable video! Getting the roof done professionally is a great relief. These contractors have all the necessary tools and the crew are organised working with each other. They made good provision with the tarpaulin so that your property cannot get damaged. There is a limit we should place ourselves to, doing that roof is a big responsibility, and I am sure Tony is well capable of doing that project but there is a limit. The same when they were cutting down those trees, that was a bit over the edge, but it is done and all is cleared, cut and dry!! :) You are very disciplined at the Brocante's, as well as P & S, do not even touch what you do not need. The donkeys were just beautiful, they are also in a very good condition, they had better be or the owners would catch much flack if they were neglected. It was a nice gesture of you owning your own donkey, but do you want one? Rather get yourselves a couple of ducks if you do not have perhaps they can go for a dip in the river but then again they could float away, that would be horrible. Ducks are like kids, a risky job keeping the ducks out of the water.... We are more or less right in the middle of our winter in S. Africa, and the weather is quite challenging I might add. Extremely fresh in the morning and night. So grateful we have sunshine during the day,, that keeps the misery out of winter. So, when next we meet, the roof should be all done and you can show us. Interesting how close houses are in this area were they originally part of the same house or farm or property? glad you have a new drone I suppose you never found the other then ;) I hope they (roofer) done before you have any other guests. I don't suppose you will refinish those finials with some paint? not a fan of taxidermy myself I wouldn't buy that the plates are a better deal and more useful. The donkeys were sweet glad they are being used in the community as most people don't these days on farms.
