Take a walk with me around the Hidden Philippines. Join me as I wander around Barangay Lawa in Obando Bulacan Philippines. When I say "not seen in tourist guides" that's exactly what it means. You won't see any foreigners here, only the locals. I have seen many places like this, and I always ask the question, "where are the Barangay officials who are supposed manage the community?" It always baffles me to see all the garbage and nothing being done about it. It only cripples the community to lead them to believe that it is normal. How do you feel things should be done about this? How are places like Makati, Araneta City, Siargao, and all clean places in the Philippines able to maintain cleanliness? Why can't there be a "no litter" policy, and fines be implemented? How difficult can this be? If you are a local with answers, feel free to shed some light =) Stay tuned for more hidden philippines videos. [KT2]

KT, I've got a potential solution but can't do it from NYC, need someone local like you - do you want to help me make it happen and clean up a neighborhood from litter? If so, I'll email you the details for your feedback.

As much as I love The Philippines and the Filipino people, I sometimes wish they’d take more pride in their neighbourhoods and stop treating their streets and waterways as rubbish dumps. Doesn’t matter whether it’s metro Manila or a town in the province. It’s always the same. Such a shame to see.

I was going to retire to Boracay or Other “nicer province “ but I’m reconsidering even though I would not be living in these “featured “ videos. Very depressing that nobody will clean these areas and show more self respect. I guess I don’t walk in their flip flops so I’m nobody to criticize. I couldn’t live there , looks so desperate from a spoiled western perspective I guess

I was thinking the exact same thing. I noticed the first time I went to the Philippines the lack of bins for litter and the amount of waste floating in the rivers. It's such a shame that they have so many beautiful places but they don't look after them.

Yeah that’s true indeed Mark G. I was a tourist myself back in 2008 while visiting the country of the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 for the first time in my life. I took an aeroplane ✈️ from 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝 Changi Airport Jetstar straight to Pampanga barangay airport strip yet while at the counter booking my airline ticket 🎟 I was told that my flight ✈️ trip will take me straight to the airport of Manila(Clark Kent) airport strip aka pampanga airport strip aka barangay. The locals thinkaporeans from 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝who sold me the airline ticket 🎟 insisted that Manila(Clark Kent) is the passageway to Manila NAIA aka Philippines 🇵🇭 Capital City International Airport for all domestic flights ✈️ travelling in and out of NAIA Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭 Upon arrival at the (Clark Kent) barangay airport strip located at Pampanga, after the collections of my personal luggages from the airport belt I proceeded to the customer service counter just outside of (Clark Kent) Pampanga airport strip aka barangay and I was in a rude shock because I was mislead into believing that the flight ✈️ which I’m travelling will definitely reached NAIA Philippines 🇵🇭 Capital City airport aka Manila. I have got no choice but to buy a local Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 cellular phone 📱 SIM card to insert into my cellular phone 📱 so that I was able to communicate with the locals there in the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 My Philippines 🇵🇭 friend whom I met online was a Filipina from Dipolog City Philippines 🇵🇭 and the moment I started using my new cellular phone 📱 SIM card number my cellular phone 📱 rang and text messages appears from my cellular phone 📱 The receipiant was shocked 😮 after realising that the plane ✈️ I took flew all the way to Pampanga(Clark Kent) airport strip while they are waiting eagerly for me in NAIA airport arrival hall and don’t see my face coming out from the arrival hall at all. This is my first trip and experience and my last too. I’m utterly shocked 😮 and disappointed by the staffs from the local 🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝 budget airline customer service staffs who sold me their airline ticket 🎟 as I was a newbie and my first trip there to the Philippines 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 As I glance around the Clark Kent pampanga airport strip surroundings I was shocked 😮 to find out that it’s barangay is really wayward and 👀 way too ancient too. There’s a significant pasts of Spanish influence there and the restaurant there are all made of hard wood and their surroundings too. Poverty still lives on in the Philippines 🇵🇭 till this day. Yeah that’s true too. My observations told me that Filipinos boys and men there are way too lazy and they are bums too. Their refusal to change says it all. Plenty of slums and they enjoyed living in such close quarters too. What’s the locals Filipinos there specialities are none other than droga aka drugs transactions shipments amongst themselves and they loved 🥰 to drink 🍺 Red Horse 🐴 🍺 smokes cigarettes 🚬 and doing all kinds of illegal drugs dealings as part of their livelihoods lifestyles.

it really upsets me about some of the comments here writing about how these people live...ok if these people are from The Philippines but if not and they are from lets just say a rich country and who has everything then these people should keep their opinions to themselves and not criticize how others live...Mr KT is there anyway that you could try and raise funds from your kind Subscribers to help these people clean their waterways and get the local barangay to dispose of the rubbish if it is possible I would be one of your subscribers to contribute towards the clean up...Another Great Video Thanks...Kev From UK...

I don't think the government provides adequate garbage collection in these poorer barangays. You never see trash receptacles there. Also, many of them are in flood plains, so whenever it rains, all the trash flows into those areas. I have family in what used to be "Espina Compound" (before the fire) in Tipolo, Mandaue City, Cebu. Cleaning up after flooding is a constant chore. :(

@@KryptoTrekker I just suggested it because you make a point about video and sound quality, even in the title (4k), when it isn't true. People will just see 1080p and move on, but sitting in front of a huge OLED panel the quality is especially significant. Unless there is a downside that I don't know about? Switching is a good option and followed by many channels that want to launch the video with the highest quality.

If I had to guess: Lack of education means they don't understand the risks of waste and contamination. As for the aesthetics, I can't really explain that. Perhaps a mixture of laziness and making it out to be somebody else's problem? Perhaps if there was money in a clean environment...

I find the title of his video ridiculous, instead of generating political reflection, he leads to a degrading vision of that people who live comfortable in misery for decades. It is easy to observe bicycles, motorcycles, painted walls and grocery stores even in those horrible slums where they already got used to living in the midst of garbage and bad odors, but we never see them even worried about collecting, recycling, or even planning a better country. Of course, such places are not in the tourist guides, but they are not the "hidden part" that you refer. Tourism is to enjoy - who wants to spend a single dollar seeing a town with laziness, who does not even wear footwear beyond the cheap sandals that barely separate them from the floor and their miserable history of poverty while sleeping in the middle of the garbage Waiting for someone to give them the daily support, but that in each house a sign is visible that promotes one more politician. It is that corruption begins in those self -degraded and well -off societies with crumbs.
