So so sorry this has happened. Your love for your bison, all pets on your farm / ranch, is the reason why I watch your channel. You do everything in your pwer to enrich their life. Keep them safe as is physically possible. I remember when you lost your bison due to the toxitity of that type of grass. I only own 3 cats but dogs were part of our family too. Certain flowers are poisonous to cats such as lilies. We do our utmost to keep our pets safe and healthy and to lose a pet is devastating and such a young age as your heifer must be difficult to bear. Thinking of you Dusty as you have a heart of gold and that comes across in buckets in your videos whether it's caring for your herds, pets and family It must be so difficult tending your bison during very hot, dry summer months. Something we in the UK know very little about as we still tend to see a good deal of rain, more so here in Scotland. This year we are wondering if we will ever see summer as dry sunny days are few and far between. Thankfully our temps to rise to 18c for the next week but after that it's a guessing game. Our fiels are lush green with almost daily rainfall . Take care Dusty

So sorry for your loss! Grazing livestock will sometimes eat toxic plants and then develop a taste for them, almost like an addiction. In the past, one of my young horses developed a taste for Russian star thistle, which horses won't normally eat at all. It's very neurotoxic to horses. Thank heavens I noticed what she was doing and I was able to get totally rid of it from my pastures.

That’s actually very concerning. Yes, farmers lose animals. Here in southeast NC I am battling parasite overload in our dry pastures. No matter how much feed and hay you provide, grazers and browsers want to do just that. Sheep and goats eat down to the dirt. I hope you can figure out the vegetation problem and save the rest of your herd from further loss.

So am I understanding this video, that it’s from 2022? Your fields now are green right now.

They was getting a bunch on rain a week or two ago. Thats not a drought. Maybe over the last year or two they are in a Naturally getting grass to turnover to native grasslands, is time consuming. You might want to plow so of it over and plant grass that’ll give you good pastures. Or maybe it’s a growing pain in Oklahoma since spring time you’ll get rain and come June you wont. It’s a tough to know what to do. We know you love and care for your bison Dusty

Hardest part is wanting to do something & not knowing what to do! I always laid a hand on mine & prayed before doing since we are watching them at first & prodding them to get up. I always felt I had best be praying. GOD honors those who think to go to HIM first. That said on a better thought. The yellow float reminded me of one a neighbor rigged up next to the traugh float but one was grey & one yellow. If they pushed on the yellow one it shot a spray into air over them. They figured that out & that grey one didn't so would push yellow instead of slashing water out or trying to stand in traugh. He rigged it so it turned on but right back off using the water in traugh just like the fill float that was grey one.

I live in the south and a friend with pasture land told me of an invasive new grass that is giving ranchers fits. I don’t know the name but will ask. I don’t know if it poisons cattle or crowds out beneficial grasses
