I've been driving a forklift on and off over 30 years. This guy is very good at what he does. Obviously OSHA would not approve, however I'm sure his boss is very happy wih how efficient he was.

I have 33 years of experience in LTL transport. This guy is not doing anything dangerous. He is doing what he can with what he has. Their is always time frames to respect in any logistic job. He looks very efficient and competent.

i work in a warehouse. i taught myself to always look where im going. even if im only moving a foot or 3 inches. people will walk right up behind you trying to die 🤐

This guy is good. As a forklift driver myself with 27 years experience, one usually finds operators like this are generally the safest.....despite all the official training procedures. I hate having to do everything "properly" when it comes to refresher time!!!

When you drive a lift for so long, you learn things like these along the way, mostly from other old veteran drivers. We had a guy in our whse, Raul, who would do letdowns and he would never actually drive into the bay to put the product in. All his maneuvers were done by simply sliding or nudging the pallet with the tip of the forks. That guy made production standards like crazy, always had tons of time to burn.

This is how they dont teach you but your employer expects it done like this

At 00:23 the driver disregarded basic safety.. Had a school bus or a group of elderly ramblers walked into his path via a time portal he would have been totally unaware of them, causing untold carnage and explosions blowing up the harbour and destroying Alaska's fishing industry.. Basics man, basics.

I think he did pretty good in the environment that he is in. Different skills in different situations, he did amazing. Shaved a lot of time by doing it his way.

Good driver! What he is doing is pretty easy with plastic,, aluminum and wood container bins.. Its a different story when you are moving huge loads of product that have a ton more weight loading semi trailers,, 4&5 teer racks in warehouses and moving huge industrial equipment to and from with people around/cant drive as fast.. Im pretty sure this driver can do much more with his good driving skills in heavy equipment as well.. What he is doing in this video is years of experience and doing the same routine day in and day out.. I have about 15yrs in standup and sit down lift driving and i have to say im pretty damn good myself lol.. I can spot a skilled driver within 1 minute behind the lift..

I have been at the incident time when I walked checking goods. One guy was showing his skills to the new starters. He spin around like crazy with FLT and in one moment the tub of shrink wrap flew out of the truck from the back of the seat. Another spin in circle made him ride right on the wrap tube and made him jump as well tipping over. Unfortunately he had no chance to grab the steering firmly and lean to opposite side from tipping direction so the forklift tipped over on his neck with the guard frame causing death. His 8 years experience has tragic final. No one knows when will be your final but you can extend your live every day simply following safety rules. Of course would be a good idea to have an specially controlled designated area for extreme FLT operating skills show with safety equipment installed. I worked with big variety of FLT trucks over 12 Years and I do have lot of skills, tricks and technics. But I NEVER overprice myself and I respect my profession.

This is ok if you drive there alone or with 1 other person and have a pattern together but if there are alot of drivers and people this is dangerous af

aside from not looking behind him much, I think he's just fine. I handle freight with similar speed and precision and I end up being called on by the bosses for priority projects.

That’s actually very easy to do, considering there was little to no weight. It’s when you’re moving things that are big and heavy that your skills get put to the test.

That's not reckless, a good driver can make thing's easier for a lot of people. Any one can drive a forklift and lift shit up and down, there is a difference between driving it and making the sucker do the work, especially if you can make it do what you want.

Pretty creative use of equipment. I'm used to moving freight that you can't toss around . I imagine that facilities mechanic hates that kid. When you push the agility of any type of lift something eventually breaks.

yes very obviously dangerous practices as everyone is pointing out but his skills and precision is on point. This is all for camera and for when the dock is completely empty with no one else operating around the area aka just pure showing off. If he drove like this while on working hours where other forklift operators are around or just people walking around would be a death waiting to happen.

As someone who spent considerable time at the same job on the docks, i would say that the operator is highly skilled at his job. I was known by the higher ups as fast and safe. Except for not knowing the actual speed that he was going, i consider him skilled. Many people that have never driven a forklift, shouldnt be critical. Try the same things in a blizzard.

One of the guys i use to work with told me he could pick up a penny with the fork and i didnt believe him of course so he put it on the warehouse floor and put a fork halfway on it, backed up and it flipped onto the fork. Good thing i didnt bet him anything lol

First of all the video is a bit sped up but with regards to his skills he has some chops. He kept control of his machine and the bins at all times.

That guy breaks all the safety rules and would be fired in a second where I work. However you have to give him props he has skills.

The dock was also empty of other workers and dock workers are aware of forktrucks. Did the employer make sure forklift was equipped with a backup beeper as per osha?

He shouldn't have been wearing his seat belt. When i was going through my training, i was told the only time you shouldn't wear your seat belt is on harbor docks. If you were o accidentally drive off the edge into the water, your strapped into a 15,000lbs rock going straight down. Other than that, this dude is mad good

After working on a swing mast like a Drexel any of these maneuvers are simple there is an art to doing work with any of these machines like order pickers reach trucks and even the simple non motorized pallet jack some people have a hard time and end up like the dude that got thrown off the back of a truck using a pallet jack everyone thought it was funny but that guy got hurt not knowing how to work one of the simplest things in the warehouse imagine if they gave him a motorized pallet jack...
