@@buffaloben15golf88 those are certainly on the list. I'm hoping to do a video out at Sweetgrass this year, maybe some of the other courses in that ownership group too.

Great course, great round👏 thanks for sharing. I’ve hit 3w on #12 more than once - the exposure of the course when the wind blows is brutal. 16-18 is such a beautiful finishing stretch when it’s sunny. Hotel is excellent as well - especially on an expense account 🤩

Ahhh the golf God giveth hole 7. The golf gods taketh back plus interest the next hole. Keep up the great work and remember this putting mantra " putt through the ball" even at short range.

You have to play the Links at Bodega Harbor. Not quite as nice of a course, but incredible views and very good prices. I’d check it out if your still in Northern California.

What a cool course. That last camera shot with the clubhouse to the side, and the sun peeking through the swirling clouds over the Pacific, beautiful. Could be a stock computer wallpaper

I was lucky to grow up in Pacifica,Ca. It’s about 15 miles away right up Highway 1 along the coast from Half Moon Bay. During high school our league had Half Moon Bay as the course we played our league finals. It was the old course not the newer ocean course he’s playing here. Both are a treat to play and everyone should try to play there if they find themselves in the Bay Area. We used to call it the poor man’s Pebble Beach. What it costs to play there now it’s like the doing better than the average man’s Pebble Beach.

This is my home course and I play there all the time. The links style ocean course is fun but not hard or very challenging. You should go play the Old Course it is park style through the houses and some ponds. Great video tho cool to watch someone play a course I’m on a lot. You’d probably play even better if you played the course again and knew some of the tricks and spots to miss
@ridekim2 жыл бұрын
The ocean course can be challenging when the wind's blowing. Played there last December with a 20+ mph off shore wind, hole 14 was playing 100 yards longer, and with rain the day before, it was an all carry affair.

Thanks Gernot! I definitely recommend it + a full day on the coast near here. Endless beautiful coastline and great restaurants, too. The green fees at HMB can vary from 100 and change to 250+, so it’s worth calling ahead and asking how to get the best rate.

Only +2 without holes 1 & 8! That’s a pretty insane round, my dude! This course looks phenomenal, does it always look so heavenly? Or did you get lucky with good lighting/clouds that day? Love your content, Adam. I must have watched well over 20 rounds of yours. Would love to get out on the course with ya sometime in Van!
@NotAScratchGolfer2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Aaron. That course really is a gem. Moreover, that stretch of coastline (they call it "the slow coast") is my favorite place on Earth. I can't believe I was lucky enough to live there when I worked in the Bay Area and it's a shame that I had to move away when my health issue cropped up. The weather on the coastline there isn't always perfect (in fact, it can get socked in with fog at certain times of season), but I find it beautiful 12 months of the year in any case. Appreciate the kind words and I'm always down to get out for a round in Van...once the weather improves, anyway. I've been slated to play a couple of times in the last week and have bailed on account of the near-freezing temps. My rule is that I won't play if the temperature drops below my handicap index :p

Lol there's literally a puddle in that bunker on the 2nd hole. I wouldve just played it as ground under repair. Don't need to force yourself to hit out of the mud lol

Do you fly your drone with or without permission from the course? Is it allowed?

Somebody else in my group had one and used it. I didn’t ask if he had permission lol. Generally I’ve avoided the drone thing for this reason.

You forgot to say you are playing the Ocean Course... The course to the north is the Old Course...
@NotAScratchGolfer2 жыл бұрын
True, thanks for adding this. Do you have a preference between the two? I found that people were very divided on this. I'll take the Ocean all day. Perhaps the Old Course is more of a classic parkland layout, but I don't need a $200+ green fee for a house-lined parkland course when the Ocean is only a few feet away from me, although obviously the closing stretch on the Old Course is spectacular. *Prepares to be peppered with insults for defaming the reputation of the Old Course*
@jaffy64202 жыл бұрын
@@NotAScratchGolfer, I've been lucky to have played the Ocean Course 5 or 6 times.. The Old Course just once.. But the Old Course is so classic, with great holes, and quality elevation changes.. And the last 3 holes are a stage, for sure... That 2nd shot on 18 is the best... If I had to pick one to play, I'll take the Old Course... I love both tracks, but it's the Old Course for me.. BTW, your videos are great.. Simply real, and 100% relatable... Enjoy your golf journey on the Left Coast...
