@@errorerror616 Abed keeps track of classic winger lines, jeff keeps track of how many times people mention his abs, and troy keeps track of how many notches he's made so far(which is pointless because you'll always have notched the exact amount of notches there, so why bother counting?)

Community is a funny show with plenty of good jokes. But Troy's notches might have gotten the biggest reaction out of me. Simple, yet effective.

The attention to detail here is on point. I mean look at Abed's notches - they're so uniform and orderly compared to Jeff's and Troy's. Abed even has a special blade to carve them, while Jeff and Troy use keys.

My all-time favorite Community scene (though this starts a little late...the part where they awkwardly attempt to actually study until the Dean interrupts them much to their relief is absolute gold). The "notches" punchline is of course brilliant, but underrated is that the "everyone wants you to shut up," "and yet I won't. Case in point," exchange is actually a really a good demonstration of democracy not working.

It doesn’t work because it’s a stupid idea that shouldn’t work. Unless you have a 100% consensus on a decision someone is being forced to abide by the whims of others. More often than not democracy doesn’t cater to even a majority but rather the largest minority. 10 people vote for lunch: 2 want tacos, 2 want hot dogs, 2 want sandwiches, 1 wants sushi, and 3 want vegan wraps. Well, looks like everyone is having vegan wraps even though 70% of the people don’t want them Basically all democracy is good for is mob rule and tricking the electoral losers into thinking they consented to their own exploitation by playing and losing the game of voting
