For the illumination try the regulator on the right side og the steering wheel ;)
@jinger9980
@jinger9980 5 ай бұрын
For the illumination: Check all the ground contacts! It is possibel that a contact has been ripped off due to the massive impact. Just check by giving an easy to reach bulb an extra ground contact while it is switched on. If it lights up you have a ground problem in the circut. Good luck and continue the work. It is fun to watch!

I think you are right @jinger9980 a ground for the circuit(s) is likely the culprit

One possibility is once you unscrew a ground it never makes as good contact on reassembly unless it's scraped clear of corrosion.

Amazing to watch this wreck being brought back to life, not in a surgically clean, well-lighted garage festooned with every conceivable tool, but on a rain-soaked driveway. with just a few hours of winter daylight.. You're a Star ! 🤩

This a brave choice considering you haven't done that many cars so far! I've always liked to dabble fixing cars but repairing my wife's Citroen C4 nearly sent me over the edge! At one point I was quite ready to fix it with fire! All the best with it!

Every French car should be taken directly from the production lines at the factory to a recycle center. Avoiding the customer bit in the middle. Any German car is useless and ugly. I do drive a BMW but I don’t like it. They are awful. Any Italian car will rust before you can drive it off the dealership. Realistically, the only cars left that could be Ok, are japonese. Also very ugly (all of them!), also very unpleasant to drive, but at least they last the first 4 years without much pain. Still, after 5 or 6 years of ownership, I'd let them run out of oil and drive them until the engines throw a rod bearing through a new hole in the bonet. Cars are hateful machines.

It’s a big decision needless to say but if you enjoy it and in a position to be able to afford to give it full time do so. Awesome effort mate great to watch. You don’t learn about these cars until you get your hands dirty doing fixes like you did. Regarding the dash backlights not working I had the same issue on my Discovery 3 as well as the horn not working - some research later it appeared to be the clock spring on the steering wheel, however when I removed the steering wheel to replace the clock spring there was two broken wires on the steering wheel harness. Ordered a new cable from Rimmer bros and presto fixed the horn and the dash lights

As someone that owned a 2004 Td6 for 10 years and now drive a 2011 most of the parts inside and out are really easy to source used at very reasonable prices. New parts are astronomical. The L322 apart from the engine & gearbox are relatively simple to work on yourself and always have a certain rewarding feeling when you get them on the road. Make sure you check if the turbo oil drain mod has been done (main achilles heal on the 3.6). Good luck with the great project.

Congratulations Nino. You have a unique charisma and a fantastic attitude…..You Deserve some luck with all your hard efforts… you need luck with JLR and you seem to have had some…….all looking great. I do the exact same as you for a hobby whilst working around a day job…. I’d never start a KZfaq channel (due to lack of bravery) but I’m so looking forward to you doing so……Subbed and can’t wait for the next one.

Great video content, your narration as you go through with your thoughts and explanations really makes it, I could be there as you chat to the camera.. 👍

Great job Mate! I wish I could be living in UK where car prices are affordable. Can also find gems at car auctions. Love it!❤

Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the result so far. Hoping to get some good miles on it over the Christmas break and see if these things are as unreliable as everyone always says 😂 Thank you so much for the contribution 🙏

I admire your enthusiasm, your wife's patience and your lack of expletives when working on the cars. Good luck with your plan to go full time with KZfaq.

Have a look behind the left-hand inner A post in case you have trapped some wire that feeds the interior lights. This would cause your issue. The headlight switch illumination lights are fed by another circuit.
