Defenders are so watertight ;) I’d investigate using nautically sourced instruments in this panel. A double DIN with weather band made for a boat could possibly last a little longer in that particular application/location.

Great video 👍 there's enough space at the top for small CB radio ( fantastic if you have no mobile signal but still need help) or just chat with your mate out on the trail

Hey Mike, just double check all the sd card slots on your new stereo as I thought I had the same problem. There was a second sd card slot I hadn't seen which had the card in with the maps. Failing that you can buy the cards on eBay for about £15 ish. Look for mini sd card with winCe maps. Hope that helps

great upload Mike, but the most intersting bit for me was your fan blower switch, how did you change that from the "scalextric trigger" type to a proper knob

Quite easy - I did away with the heater controls and only have and windscreen and floor control - so I re routed the heater wires to the 2 speed switch - look for my heater modifications

@@BritannicaRestorations thanks Mike I didn't realise the lever wasn't constantly variable and just a switch have you any idea what the big blue multiplug is for behind instrument panel.

It was one of those real light radios - no CD etc so just used hot glue gun - still in!

You use mirror link to connect your phone to it via Bluetooth and use Google maps. Built in maps are useless on these cheap units.

Thats great Mike! How opportune! I just bought a MudUK dash as well. But no double DIN unit as yet. Do you know the maximum depth the Double DIN can be? I am eying a Kenwood short body with a shallow installation depth of 75mm. Will I have 75 mm space? Thank you Mike!

I will have to measure but here is the unit I bought www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B075LC5TPG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1 says 3.2 inch depth = 81mm and there is bags of room behind

I just measured mine - max depth 228mm, 177mm from the front to where the plastic tray starts You will be OK Mike
