fun fact about flick notes: it doesn't matter which direction you flick in, as long as the game registers a swipe, you're in the clear. This means you can just flick upwards and it'll still work. Heck, you can even flick downwards if you're feeling adventurous.

it does matter if you're trying for an all perfect, it'll count as a Flick Great if you go the wrong direction

Ah! Nevemind, I see now. for notes that point up you can also swipe down and it'll count as perfect. But notes that face left or right will count as great: you were right!

Me, a thumb player, getting Cup Noodle on full combo on first try and quickly healing the pain in my thumbs: uhhh... I'd call this the Utapri experience? (Utapri is a rythm game similar to Ensemble Stars, but with short songs that last only for about 2 minutes and better gacha pull rates [and it has better note reactions than Project Sekai, really])

As of writing this reply the EN server it doesn’t care, but on the JP server it does mention if you flicked the wrong way. No idea if you get penalized for it tho as I don’t have a JP acc Edit: just found the setting for it lol, my bad. Yes, best you get is a great if you swipe the wrong way as long as the setting is on

a tip for the lots of flicks in different directuons, you don’t have to flick flicks in the direction theyre facing - you can flick them all up, left, right , even down, just as long as you flick them

Yes poor thumb players... When theres a slider through the whole screen I've gotten used to completely letting go and backing off one of my thumbs so the other has space to pass then quickly moving back into position

@@mb.ying_ Eh not really, Ive gotten used to it but this sometimes mixes up my fingers so my right finger will take a spot that the left one was supposed to get. Honestly the most hate "maps" are the ones that kill our hands and give us pain. The past 7 maps I just did have done that to my hand... (The highest I can clear is level 31 and im learning/training to play level 32s so I did a bunch of level 32s and revived like 7 times on level 33s but I was trying)

I've gotten into the habit of tapping a few times after the song ends to make sure it's actually over. If it registers me tapping, there's more left. If it doesn't, I'm good. Also, I submit for your approval: A regular note followed immediately by a flick. Specifically ones where you have to use the same finger for it. For example: ^ - -

Pro tip: Flicks aren't actually directional. You can swipe down if you want, it'll still work if you time it properly (which makes the consecutive flicks on songs like Meru a lot easier imo)
