Roblox Hacked by joining this Discord Server?

Күн бұрынRoblox scammers are at it again with yet another sophisticated scam. They get you to join a Discord server, and when you join the server you get instantly banned and receive a DM from a bot.
This bot tells you that you've been hacked. Now I could say I hacked you or that my dad owns Discord, doesn't mean much without proof. However, these bots actually send you your Roblox account. Uh oh.
So am I completely screwed or is there something else going on behind the scenes?

as a developer: even if there was xss on discord, it still wouldn't allow attackers to steal your roblox acc. this is because of SOP (same origin policy). this in short means that scripts running on the discord website (the discord client is just electron with the discord website so this also applies to desktop) cannot access localstorage and/or cookies of roblox (or any other website). i was quite unsure when you said about the recent discord xss because i knew about the one in the discord server invite things but i didnt know until you said that the scam is not real that you meant it. i also thought that before you said the scam was fake, that they managed to somehow bypass SOP

also there's discord app not web version but its still like web because it was made using electron, so if there xss exploit somewhere u can probably steal roblox acc

@@justind4615 yes, i know about that. i was skeptical tho, as it then had nothing to do with roblox cuz of SOP. and in the beginning of the video, it was presented as if it was part of a roblox thingy exploit.

Lately, Discord has been making it _preeetty_ clear that even they don't read their *own* developer policies, especially if they're letting bots like these run on the platform.

Something similar happened to me in COD. I was in a lobby on PC playing with some newly made lobby friends when I was invited to a server. Dude said he just needed me to join, leave and I'm good. Doing that got me insta-banned from the official CoD discord. So now if I want to join a public Warzone lobby... I'm locked out of the biggest and most used CoD server. Haven't touched the game since.

You can easily know if they’re in your account or not by just going to your Roblox settings and going to security and scrolling down it easily will show people who are signed in, what country they’re in, what device they’re on, and what time they signed in.

I am head of staff for RoVer. I would like to make it very clear that we do *NOT* store any sensitive information going through the verification process. The only things logged are your discord ID, discord username, roblox ID, and roblox username -- all of which is *very public information and is not sensitive whatsoever*. We retired the global api key system all the way back in 2019 due to abuse (this video is a prime example) and have an api that only works with the server you are in and can only produce the *public information* (mentioned above) on people who are in the server the search is being ran on. Do be careful as there are legit scams going around Discord as always. However, this video is nothing but clickbait and kind of disappointing to see.

Another thing also. If you actually know how to change your password, immediately do it. It changes the cookie (roblosecurity), logs you out of every device besides the one you changed the password on.

hey you should do a video on discord blocking you from the application. its a bug i think but it says "sorry, you have been blocked." and your message will go red and if you try to restart it shows the message its their new stupid automod thing for "online attacks" but it will block you for no reason.

I have encountered a glich in discord when i was in a vc with a friend of mine and when he didnt hear me i restarted my system. Now im apperantly blockt from ever using discord on my pc. I can still use it over my phone but my pc was the main user of the platform.

Btw even if u actually got sent ur actual password and cookie then dont waste time and delete ur actual cookie to refresh it for a new one by doing inspect element then going to applications and rightclicking the cookie and deleting it. After that log in and make sure to change your password and log out all other sessions couple of times in the roblox settings to make sure your safe

if you're paranoid about actually getting hacked by some skid, just log in on a new device and log out all sessions. if they have your cookies, they will be worthless.

its hard to see anyone falling for this if they actually look at it for more than 10 seconds. it claims to have ur password but when u reveal it it's just random mumble jumble which gives it away. it would be a lot more effecient of a scam if they didn't add the part where they guess ur password

Most people don't know what a cookie looks like (which is the thing that's random), and the password specifically isn't given in the message (instead saying it's stored elsewhere).
