Discord is getting a "refresh", which feels like happens every other year. What does this mean in theory? New Discord themes, both free and nitro only. New Discord app icons, nitro only. And one of these new features is actually worthwhile.

Imo, the only bad thing about the simplified profiles is that they hide the full "About Me" section. People need that type of info to accurately convey stuff. Seeing their whole bio from the get-go is quite important to me and to many others, so hiding it behind a button that opens the full profile makes it so we might as well not even have the initial screen in our opinions. Things like roles and stuff genuinely don't matter in the preview, but it does still lead to some weird issues since the "global" profile (the one that doesn't show roles/server profiles/server nicknames/etc.) can only be opened from DMs with this update in place.

i think the increased amount of info when hovering over a server is honestly a good idea, helps tell you if there's anything of note going on, because there's a chance that a vc might just have a bunch of lurkers, they just need to shrink it down instead of it being this gigantic popup

Plenty of people from Twitter, Feedback website and discord are calling for a revert simply because people can usually have 100 servers or dislike scrolling up and down just to reach direct messages. It’s simplified, less clutter and easier to use for mobile based systems.. NOT DESKTOP!

personally, with the minimal layout for profiles, i hate it because i use a lot of fanart as my discord pfp and i have a spot in my bio where i creddit the artist. it's annoying that they can't just click my bio and see it from there. i'm fine with the rest of the clutter being gone, but maybe leave 2-3 lines of the bio at least? edit: i did not get to the second bio layout before i commented this lmao

I like the Activity idea, specially since you can just collapse it The server hover tooltip however, I wish it was optional, or you could enable/disable depending on the server, I would love to have this on small servers but not on big servers

As a fellow server owner, I like the new profiles a lot, but not all roles showing up is a huge deal breaker. One extra click per member adds up quick. I wish it was more customizable.

The activity list has already taken effect for my client, and I honestly hated it at first, especially the fact that even if you click the option to hide it, it'll be visible again next time you load up the page, but now I sort of don't mind it and I just let it sit there.

WHY did they move the DM button back to the top of the server list on mobile. SO INCONVENIENT AND SO MUCH SLOWER THAN IT BEING IN ITS OWN TAB. FFS.

The activity section on the member list should just be a small icon on the top right, where clicking it shows the activities going on. The profile changes look suuper clean though I like them

midnight would be 10x better if it made all the actually bright things, darker too. Like text, or the side panels. When you're on your computer at 3am and slaving away at discord, your screen is still going to be incredibly bright.
