To the person who asked "why not thoughtseize?", you'll probably never see this. But the reason the legacy version of Elves typically plays Thoughtseize is because there are a lot of match-ups in that format i.e. Delver and various 3-4 color control piles which can get very grindy, so taking an opponent's permission spell or other tempo card can really be a huge swing or buy you the extra turn(s) you need to go off. And there are also combo match-ups where taking one or two key cards can really help you out race them. I think Timeless is still being figured out, but I think it seems to be turning out that just trying to be as linear as possible and executing your game plan as early as possible is more valuable.

@jimdavis my personal opinion on the arena formats is that, timeless = legacy, historic = modern. Obviously we dont have exactly the same cards but thats how i try and view the power levels of each format. I would love for both of those formats to come to arena where its possible to play for free.

The cool twist I've seen on this deck is playing 4 Allosaurus Shep, 4 Cavern, 4 Chalice because you can ignore it.

For those who care, the match 3 game 1 Atraxa trigger had a 2.9% chance to whiff on 1 drops and a 0.011% chance for creatures in general. Unlucky for sure but not too farfetched.

Hard agree on Bowmasters being bad for the format. Makes too much fun stuff unplayable.

To me Bowmaster is fine, because it keeps a lot in check. Dark Ritual and Natural order are the two problems imo. Everything else is pretty cool, those two things are just so tough to deal with. Dark Ritual just enables so many broken things, and Natural order is just too busted without any force of will or even force of negation floating around.

I like the idea of Bowmasters as an anti carddraw Design. Unfortunately, it's also an anti creature design. The arena nerf just makes it super bad on rate. I wish it was instead worded in a way where yes, it still enters on etb - but it can't hit creatures anymore.

Wouldn't sheoldred edict sb be a viable hedge against certain match ups such as against the bowmaster or ashiok?
