I was born and raised in an area where black bears were very common. When you feed a black bear from a family picnic area, the bear thinks this is a food source. When other people are there and don't feed him, he becomes aggressive. Usually becomes tragic as the bear gets shot and killed as a result of people feeding them.

@@AjWitteborgEverytime someone makes a joke about an animal(which is factually stronger than a human), people just have to say that just because another person hypothetically could kill the animal with a couple days prep time, then the animal can't tear apart everyone's body on the spot. There's no need to be butthurt about a bear being physically stronger than you. It's not a flex to say that you can kill an animal with a gun(btw, just having a gun doesn't mean auto win.) when you have no survival skills or physical strength. I don't get why everyone has to keep mentioning guns. Some kid commented on a community post about 2 dogs fending off 2 robbers, and they were saying that if the robbers had formed a bank robbery esque plan to break into the house and four guns then 'the little doggy dogs' would be dead. that isn't what (usually) happens. people love to trot this garbage out because i guess it's easier to believe that than the reality: yes, it is bad for bears to get habituated with humans, but not because the bears 'get aggressive if not fed'. i mean, what kind of sense does that even make? and do you have a source or citation to back that claim up? what actually happens, according to the evidence i am familiar with, is that habituated bears assume people will be friendly and then they try to interact with people that either aren't friendly or that do something just outrageously stupid then of course the bear reacts aggressively and everyone has a bad day just important to remember that humans are basically always the problem. we're stupid and shitty, and that means habituated animals are at risk not because they get greedy but because they will run into stupid, shitty humans that get said wildlife into trouble

Black Bears are not as bad as people think. They take what they can get and are very thankful animals, they are basically like big racoons. They are scavengers. Grizzly bears are a totally different story.

As for Sloth Bears, yeah they're no joke the most dangerous bears to near. Not so much as they're powerful, Grizzly bears and Polar bears have them beat in that regard. It's the fact that since Sloth bears get preyed upon on the daily, they have weapons like a predator and the mindset of prey, making them especially dangerous. (This is the same reason why people say, you have better odds surviving an encounter with a Grizzly Bear than a Moose.)

Black bear attacks are pretty much non-existent unless it is a mother with cubs OR they feel like they are in extreme danger OR they are starving. This bear, I would have to put my money on........not fitting ANY of those three descriptions. 99% of the time, IF its a black bear, their charges will be "bluffs" anyway (which, THIS bear is about in as opposite of a "CHARGE" mood, as a bear can be) The biggest thing this group is in danger of is that f@t @$$ eating all of their food. 😁
