This is brilliant. It shows that the people who think it’s offensive are actually the people who are hateful and judgmental. While the people that were happy to see someone that was just wearing one of the many different types of clothing that’s native to their country. Great job!

I have to say, due to white people desperately wanting to be one of "us", I'm not sure how I would feel today seeing a white person wearing our traditional clothes. I'm not Mexican so I wouldn't get offended on their behalf. For example, Hillary Baldwin, Rachel Dolezal, Oli London, Martina Big, etc.

Disagree. My Mex family doesn't like it when people wear this for Halloween. It's mocking us. I know some other families who don't like it either. Plus we don't even wear sombreros or ponchos like that anymore. But idc if someone wears a sombrero for their bday at a Mex restaurant. That's fun.
@teresatriumph2780
@teresatriumph2780 2 жыл бұрын
Cultural Appropriation actually CAN be appreciation. People have changed the meaning to be JUST a negative connotation. Imitating (not mocking) other cultures CAN be a form of flattery/appreciation, hence Cultural Appropriation. A person would only have to 1. ACTUALLY ASK ABOUT THE PERSON's INTENT or 2. look up all true meanings to have the facts. (CAPS edit fbu)
