Hey Jack, how about allowing ND alumni and boosters to have an NIL collective solely for High School Recruits? ND had 3 5-star players in the 2023 class decommit due to NIL. Freeman got screwed over by the ND Board of Trustees not allowing what is necessary to compete with the NIL big dogs.

Well ND is not gonna do pay to play so using NIL better would be great but the 5 stars will still be bought by other schools.

They (ND) won't be forced to join a conference. They might join one but only if it's amazingly beneficial to them in some way. I don't know why everyone is obsessed with ND joining a conference though... Just because everyone else is part of one does not mean that they have to join... For those of you who say that they don't play a conference championship, you're right but they also don't schedule FBS schools and they have one of the toughest schedules year over year. All they're currently doing is giving themselves a disadvantage, which the haters out there should love.

Well bud regional scheduling would mean Notre Dame should of joined the B10 awhile ago. Doesn't make sense for Notre Dame to have a schedule agreement with the ACC and send your teams to Florida every year.

Football players at UW-Madison have separate classes, instructors, training table food service, medical support, tutors…. It is hard to think of them as ‘students’ and not ‘employees’.

Yea ND is the exception but do play up to 5 or even 6 games on the east coast

Time to join a conference Notre Dame! The ACC will never vote Stanford and Cal membership in the ACC.

I am a Notre Dame fan and it is 2023 and not 1973. The college football traditional model is dead and it is finally time to get in line with everyone else. I believe that very soon the ACC will completely dissolve and NBC will not give Notre Dame 65-75 million dollars a season and the Big Ten 65-75 million dollars as well. Notre Dame will always be accepted into any conference, so they have their choice. Cal and Stanford need to help rebuild the PAC-12 since they had a hand in destroying it.

@@kaioh187⁠⁠⁠⁠exactly it’s 2023, there’s less of a reason to join a conference than ever. 65 million is very reasonable and there are other networks as well. How did cal and Stanford help destroy it?

I am a Notre Dame fan and it does make sense. All I heard for years is to have a tournament to decide the college football National Champion and it will start in 2024. All of this Independence talk needs to go away because once the NCAA dissolves, all the conferences can make it to where only teams on conferences can qualify for the playoffs. Notre Dame was a full member of the ACC during the COVID Season.

Looks like ND wants Cal and Stanford to keep the ACC together so they can remain independent. Its not about saving them as much as its about ND not having to join a conference in football.

That's a weird take... Didn't he say that they need to find a place in general and that ND is trying to help them find one with one of the focuses being the ACC? It's not about those two teams "saving" the ACC so ND can stay independent.

@@jper1245 Its not really, several people that report on the ACC have said this. If they get more members then dissolving the conference becomes more difficult. ND knows that several schools want to break the GOR by doing so. They want the conference to stay together because the BIG nor the SEC will let them join unless they bring football. He is painting it as "saving two great schools" but they are just as ruthless as everyone else has been through this whole process.
