I don’t know about that. Even after the last character we got before the beta closed down they probably had almost finished like two or three characters, maybe even more with how many characters they had leaked with some data in the game. And furthermore they clearly have not only been working on the netcode and PVE, it doesn’t take a whole year with a few months to work on that out only. And they were releasing characters like every two weeks before and they have a way bigger team right now than before, is just logical to think they can make more characters specially after such a long time. But anyway if I had to guess I say 6 would be the perfect number. Like even in other smash like games like smash ultimate Sakurai was able to make 6 characters during a whole year.

No disappointment. It allows the devs to release new characters on a constant basis instead of running out of characters in 2 months time

@@sidemissionsteve2717 Let’s say we get 4 characters at the release of the game. But they still have like three or two more characters done that aren’t released at the release of the game. That’s still two whole months they have a character ready. And by the time of those two months they probably already made even more characters. Let’s not forget that they where doing great with character releases when they had a smaller team working on the game and they where doing it every two weeks instead of each month for only one character like now. Anyway point being that is more than possible to do it and without not even that much pressure to the game devs compared to how bad it was before releasing characters like every two weeks.

So the can consistently release new characters after the game launches. If they release most characters that they worked on for the launch roster, then they have the same exact problem as they did the first time around

This is a Warner Brothers owned game. Neither Sonic nor Garfield are owned by WB. Garfield is already in Nickelodeon All Star Brawl 2 and Sonic is already in Super Smash Bros. A quick internet search will tell you who owns what.
