Here in New England in the reforested lands deep in remote areas you can find lost history. So many locations that you would not even think once were the homesites and farms of the early colonists and settlers that came to America. In this part of New Hampshire NH I have figured out a bit part of the puzzle and it all comes down to the wall logic. The way these people played out the old stone walls in most cases makes a lot of sense and if you look hard enough and seen the time out in the woods following them it all makes a lot more sense.
In this video I go looking in a massive piece of forest in search of cellar holes ( old foundations ) from the 1700s where early settlers once built their homes. The plan is to locate these sites so they can be documented, mapped and then of course metal detected to recover any artifacts and relics we can. Well, on this day I read the landscape as I go and explain the logic of why walls are laid out they way they are. This old ground was granted to people back then to be settled as well as improve the land. Today was a great success and I did find a homesite with a cellar hole that I will be metal detecting with my Garrett ATGOLD in epodes coming up this week,
