I gotta say, you're definitely a more positive person than me. I was gutted for a while when the engine in my notch let go. And I didn't do myself any favors when I rod knocked it after I changed the head gasket. (my dumbass didn't change the oil soon enough after putting it back together) The nova would make a great cruiser. But. if you're anything like me, and can't leave things well enough alone. Lol you can make it a bad ass street machine. Either way, I'm interested in seeing what you do with it. And you probably have plenty of time to make LS fest now. As long as they only postponed it instead of canceling it cause of all this virus craziness happening. Stay safe and healthy brother, from South West Florida.

Hilarious intro 🤣 and all too true. Sympathy and commiserations as you performed this autopsy because that thing is dead! On the up side it may come back to you after recycling in the form of washers and cans to drink beer from 🍺

Check out delta cams. They can repair camshafts.

Junkyard 4.8/5.3 with the 60e and start putting on miles. Be a nice weekend cruizer and dead reliable. That car doesn't need to be super fast. It's cool enough just for what it is. My opinion, for what it's worth.

It would def be the easiest to put it back after going through the trans, and getting a motor prepped

I wonder if it eould have lived if it had forged pistons?
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
I’m leaning towards oil starvation, but without a data log it will be hard to tell what actually happened and cause the issue. The motor should’ve been fine, it was only upgraded with a cam and valvesprings

what headers/exhaust manifolds did you use if you dont mind me asking ?
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
They are church boys racing’s headers built by stainless works

What headers were you running?
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
They are sold by church boys racing, and are made by stainlessworks
@krispittman11104 жыл бұрын
@@DickHamm I was under the impression CBR headers only work if you have their rack and pinion or a front clip. Your car looked to be stock steering?
@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
@@krispittman1110 they make a mid length header that clears stock steering. If I were to build the car again I think I would go with a CPP front clip to be honest. a bit more money in the end but overall I think that would have been more ideal. Just giving my .02, her car obviously works fine tho lol

@DickHamm4 жыл бұрын
It was a 5.7 LS1! Maybe it is time for a 6.0 lol
@williamanderson47064 жыл бұрын
In my opinion that looks like your motor ran lean your exhaust valves are white they got cooked otherwise they would be close to the same color as your intake valves. Just saying that cuz you could put the whole motor back together put all that money into it and it could do the same thing depending on what caused the lean scenario.

Absolutely, and I want to make sure as best I can all is well. One thing I will be doing for sure is having a full time wideband for the next set up. 👌
