Novak is the best of the 3 in almost all stats, but to argue that there are not two other goats given how close the numbers are, and the period of time these 3 players dominated and pushed each other, makes no sense. It is almost like writing off the last 20 years as if they never happened. Of course, if Djokovic keeps pushing away from the others, as he likely will, that conversation does change. He will certainly reach 25 slams, plausibly 30, unless he suddenly starts suffering injuries or more players of Alcaraz' level emerges. It is also worth remembering that a good part of the reason why Djokovic has the advantage in the stats is that Nadal has consistently been out on injuries. Nadal was absent from 9 slams from he won his first until he won his last (and is missing 3 this year). On top of these 9 he was also injured in a number of slams. There is a very good argument than a non-injured Nadal is better than Djokovic, but the injuries can also be argued to be a result of his playstyle and how he takes care of himself, as Djokovic has barely suffered any. Another fact that is important to keep in mind is that Federer is 6 years older, and struggled to keep up as he got closer to his 30s. If Federer had been 6 years younger than Djokovic, things would likely have been very different. Though that is a "what-if". Still Djokovic is clearly helped by being the youngest of the 3.

If this man doesn’t feel excited to play tennis I don’t know who is!!! Now, I am not going to lie and say I am the biggest Novak fan but I am not one of those crazies who can’t give him his credit because I like Roger and Rafa. NOVAK is living his DREAM right now and he deserves it! He has fought so many battles against R and R and they are gone ( I know only one has retired) He finally has ALL the spotlight on him and he is enjoying it for all it is worth! He’s had personal battles, physical battles, emotional battles and raises to the occasion every time! I just respect him for that. And I have to add I LOVE his “THIS IS MY GAME “ attitude it’s rather refreshing to see. He knows he’s the best and he’s like ok , You think you can beat me, let’s see what you got!😂😂😂😂 I do think Carlos has what it takes, that is what makes this such a great match ( I hope ) This Match is the only one I’ve been waiting for!❤ Love this game!

The sad part is, all Djokovic has accomplished, most of the stadium will probably be cheering for Alcaraz. The guy is always a villain to these people. It doesn't make any sense to me tbh. Either way, I hope he dispatches the young fella but more importantly I hope it's an exciting match.
@lucijasimlesa161711 ай бұрын
@@badmanskill1112Until the appearance of Federer and Nadal, the audience at every tournament cheered against the favorite, unless the favorite was also a local player. That was not a problem for any of the top tennis players. It was understood that if you are the best, you don't need additional help from the audience. But then the audience had a culture of cheering, and they came to the stadiums for two reasons - to enjoy tennis and to be seen. Now in the audience you have those who are not interested in tennis at all, who are not interested in the culture of cheering. Who do not want to watch top sports competition. They are in the stands to provoke, insult and disturb players who are not up to their standards. There are few of them, but they are loud and brash enough to put themselves in the center of attention. They used to be kicked out of the stadium, because respect for the game and the players came first. Today, drama and the media attention that drama brings are in the first place. And so they are allowed to stay in the stadium and make spectacle.

Women’s tennis isn’t the WNBA or even women’s soccer. Their prize money for slams is equal to that of the men and their slam coverage is split nearly 50-50. This rivalry should be discussed more. It's very odd to hear ESPN and mainstream sucking up to Djokovic. They need his presence to get more sponsors, more attractions and more money for the sport in the USA/ US Open soon? (left with no choice after Federer retirement and Nadal injury?)

To be fair, McEnroe has always spoke highly of Djokovic.

@@badmanskill1112 Evert has always badmouthed Novak. So has her ratty friend. But he is always been a gentleman to them both.

can you upload the show after the match?

I actually did but unfortunately it got taken down. There wasn't much of a show because after the match there was also a women's doubles finals.
