Hi John, Chris from Palm Springs here, what I love about this video is how you break down "old Novak serve" as compared to the new totally underappreciated serve. Just like Fed, his ability to locate his spots from essentially the same toss is almost unfair. Coupled with the best return on tour I would expect Nole to have a monster year.

Great video, such a beautiful controlled motion he has and as you say John so EFFECTIVE ! Not as spectacular as Sampras or Fed in terms of execution, but very close in terms of end result…

In my opinion, the best serve we have ever seen. It is so biomechanicly grateful and safe that he will probably never have shoulder, wrist or elbow injuries anymore. Perfection. Plus it is effective on 1st and 2nd equally. But I wouldnt recommend it to be on a platform stance.

Fantastic analysis John! I really like the slow and stop motion video. So difficult to see all of the aspects in live action.

Great Video! Curious to lean more about What sort of jumping drills allow him to synchronize his motion and the timing in hitting the ball. Thanks

Great video, I learned a lot. Can you do an analysis on Medvedevs serve? It is a very powerful serve and one of the best in my opinion.

Great analysis. Can you do an analysis on the new Wimbledon women’s single champion Elena Rybakina? Fun fact, her average serve speed is about the same as djokovic’s.

Was he managing to come up on edge back when he was in the waiter’s tray position? I couldn’t tell from the video. I wonder if it has something to do with being very flexible. My son is almost as flexible as Djokovic and we are trying to cure the waiter’s tray position he gets into despite a continental grip. He comes up a little bit on edge but mostly square. He typically hits his flat serve about 105 mph give or take 5 mph and I’d guess coming up on edge would add 5 to 10 mph and more importantly make his 2nd serve much more reliable.

This very poorly done. You should talk in terms to the general public, not others that are also analyzing clips.
