Wellllllllll.... I mean, it's not like his job was to hand out free hugs and feather ticklers. He was essentially an arms dealer. Not the self-employed (ie illegal) kind but a legal state-employed dealer of death nonetheless. It's great that he saw there was a problem here and took a stand. But to do that job in the first place requires a certain degree of indifference towards human life (as long as it's someone else's far far away).

For decades, the United States has unequivocally supported Israel. Most of our foreign aid goes to Israel. Americans are concerned about our refugees from South America and Mexico, but, foreign aid to these countries pales by comparison to what Israel has gobbled up. In fact, 10 million Israel citizen have a better standard of living than those of the US, much of this is because of our support.

Gaza gets plenty of aid from the UN, the US, the EU and Arab countries and it is still a basket case. The "aid" Israel gets is to mostly to buy US weapons. Israel turned what was largely swampland into a successful economy and a liberal, democratic society. Millions of Arabs live in Israel but there are almost no Jews in surrounding Arab countries. There is no such thing as a "pro Palestine" movement, it is all about hatred of Israel and the desire to eliminate Israel. Arab countries don't give a toss about Palestinians in Gaza, it is just about being anti-Israel. You only have to look at Egypt which keeps the border with Gaza locked down and does not want the Gaza strip back even though many Gazan's are Egyptian. The same is true for the "pro Palestine" marches in the UK, it is just more politically correct to say "pro Palestine" than "destroy Israel".

I try and keep up with Palestinian human rights issues & I remember the organization trying to get attention for the sexual assaults in the Israeli prisons & I saw footage of their offices being raided. It hardly got any attention.

Love your show. Slight correction. A dumb bomb is not a missile in military terms. A missile is a rocket assisted projectile. A dumb bomb is the same type of bomb dropped during WWII. You relrase them and let gravity do the rest. A smart bomb is a dumb bomb fitted with a guidence kit which giides it to its destination. Its still a bomb not a missile.

It was immediately clear how hypocrytical America is when Blinken (I think) made a show of grief over the killing of innocent Ukranians yet then went on to condone Israel's right for 'self defence'.
