Hi there DSoundMan, do you think the ultranova could be used as a standalone keyboard in a band i.o.w. not using two due to practical and back issues?

Hermanus Bosman What sounds do you use in the band? If it’s all synth related than for sure, this will be great as a standalone. You could even hook it up to a laptop and use virtual sounds if you want organs or other sounds that aren’t included with the ultranova. The only sounds I would shy away from are sounds that work better with weighted keys (for example acoustic pianos).

DSoundman Thanks for the reply, I mostly do the background sounds for most of the covers. Typical rock songs and a few gentle ones as well but nothing that's really driven by the keyboard. Thanks for letting me know about the organ, that is definitely one of the sounds I'll be using often.

It's a synth so it contains essentially infinite sounds. It has 250 presets.

Hi there +DSoundman. Great videos you have here! Keep it going. I've been thinking of buying myself a dedicated synth, right now my options are the Novation Ultranova and Roland Gaia. Won't lie, Ioved both of them and I see some controls on Gaia that I don't see on Novation. But the Novation sounds much heavier, I mean, more real. What would you say? Thanks in advance.

I've never had a chance to play around with the Roland Gaia, but I still love the Ultranova.

nice sound & review :) btw, I have a question about the compatibility between macbook(maybe el capitan) and ultra. some people say there's noise or connection problem using usb3.0 port.wanna ask your opinion on that.Thanks in advance

+임대권 Thanks! I am running OSX Yosemite on Macbook Air (mid-2011 version) with no problems...so I guess I can't comment about that issue. I might know someone with a newer mac that I could test it out on though.

Again, with his videos the same camera angle. Which means you do NOT really get to see which controls he is talking about. A lazy video. Would be improved if he did some inserts to show the controls he is talking about. However, that requires time and patience. The basic idea is good but needs work.
