My wife surprised me with a private lesson with Lee when I was in Colorado for a mountain bike trip, and it was the best money I have ever spent on cycling. I had been mountain biking for over 10 years at that point, and I had watched every video he was in on KZfaq. However, being with him in person to get instant feedback and feel his stoke for biking changed my riding life. I cannot emphasize how extraordinary of a difference it made compared to any new bike or upgrades I have ever made. I am counting down the days until I can go back to have another lesson with him and so should you!

I get a little chocked up when I see the magic of bikes. I just love them. they are exactly what you need. you can get lost in the simple task of just peddling and be free to meditate or focus on the task completely and be free to cast your problems aside for a while, don't worry they will return as soon as you are finished with your ride.☮

Yes, why am I finding this 2w late. This is the type of MTB content that is missing. I follow and love watching UCI, RedBull events, pro rider edits, KZfaqrs. But there's a big gap in more relatable content with a story driven format.

Crashing is learning. Those trails are a blast to ride...I have crashed on almost all of them! I keep learning, adjusting, and going back. Crashing, learning, and going again brings growth. Ride. Crash. Repeat.

I thought I was a pretty good mountain biker until I met a few sections in Bentonville that were light years out of my league. It’s a wonderful place in that you can find something as easy or as challenging as your skill set allows. Good luck, you all; you’re inspiring me to get out there, too!

Bentonville is a lot of fun, I would recommend an ebike as it is very pedally. I went for the first time last year and enjoyed it a lot. The only thing Bentonville doesn't have is big downhills.

I started mountain biking as kid in 1992 for many reasons but one of them was that I was tired of everyone that was into BMX as me being so serious, then I ended up racing XC, then DH in 1998, I was starting to hate that sport because it was always about getting ahead. Freeride gave me freedom, all of this to say personally these skill clinics are my worst nightmare 😂

Listen,i almost got a trainer in the past,yet my coach said unless you get one where you have to balance yourself,it's a waste. In other words,to ride,you have to ride outside. They had rollers where you had to brace yourself,get on and start riding,so you would find a hallway.You ride dirt you have to eat some first..

Do a segment on bike fit, especially cockpit. Only one rider was on bars that were the correct width, and that was a huge limiting factor in terms of bike/body separation. The smaller the rider the more this shows.

Most of those wipe outs were because they were clipped in. Time to get out of the old school mentality. Let them ride flats. Much safer for beginners and builds confidence a lot quicker.
@LifeCycle1978
@LifeCycle1978 Жыл бұрын
They are training for a race where it’s a necessity to have clipless pedals. Train the way you race so that you can limit these types of mistakes when it counts. Everyday riding? Sure, throw on some flats but not for a race like Leadville.

With multirelease cleats and the lightest tension in the pedal you easily get out before you crash.

Unless you're a competitive racer you should not have clipless pedals. They lead to unnecessary falls and injuries. Good quality flat pedals and shoes are sufficient.

@@shellyg8617agreed. People go on and on about how easy it is to unclip, etc.. I totally get that but anytime I’ve ridden with people with that same mindset they always have a hard fall because when there is a microscopic time to unclip and you panic, and forget how to unclip.

I really like the series, but none of these people are going to make the Leadville time cut....again. Way out of shape cycling novices have too far to go for a beast like Leadville. Maybe next time start with some weekend warriors that need fitness but have a base to build?

Agree, all that training and equipment to get cut off at the same point on both seasons. Don't pick CAT 1 riders either but as you say, guys/gals with a base fitness level that will allow them to at least finish the race.
