The joncutter is about the best version of this clone I've found. I havent done anything but port/add a bigger carb to mine, nothing has broke, the plastic is much better on it than the other clones I've seen and I own 4 different ones lol. My supmix runs as good as the joncutter but the plastic was total crap, I didnt trust the recoil at all, I swapped it out with plastic off a blown up saw I had. My brother ran mine and wanted one, so we bought a proyamma. I dont recommend the proyamma, it has the worst 45cc cylinder they make but some guys are shipped 54.5cc ones which run good so some reviews are good. I have a 61.5cc clone. It was sold as a timberpro6150. It's 48mm bore with a 34mm stroke. It was slower than the 54.5cc joncutter 5800. I think they gave up on the 6200(61.5cc) version once they clued in they're slower. It has a ton of squish/low compression, a non windowed piston and side feeding transfers so it sucks lol. I'm going to try a windowed stihl 036 piston in it to try to make it faster than the smaller saws. I have everything I need to do this but have been busy. The stihl piston is 5mm taller but the ring ends are in the right places, the pin is the same size and the skirts fit nice. I'm going to put a 3mm spacer under the cylinder to get it to fit then machine the band or piston for the other 1mm.

She just hasn't got her distemper shots yet!! Haha you can make it with play dough, that's part of the fun, even working on vintage saws, necessity is the mother of all invention and sometimes the greatest kick in the ass!!!!

I have taken broken recoil springs that were broken at one end or the other. I heat the broken end red hot, bend it like the original bend and let it cool slowly.

While all based off the same design I have found many variations in quality with different makers. I think they are a lot of fun and while you have to search for parts a little, it isnt really too hard overall. Great Video

Since mine a clones of the originals , I go to the Stihl or Husqvarna dealer. Even there I still have to wait. As most parts aren’t in stock, or at least in their location.

When it comes to the Jon Cutter 2500 top handle saws, they are clones of the Zenoah g2500. That design was a collaboration between Zenoah and Red Max. I've had to order parts for my Jon Cutter 2500 by looking up Zenoah g2500 part numbers and ordering the Zenoah parts. Jon Cutter, NeoTec, Salem Master, and a ton of other Chinese brands have all cloned that design. The Zenoah g5000's parts are all interchangeable on the Wemars, Craftsman, Jon Cutter, Salem Master, and many other Chinese companies. If you need parts for these two clones, Zenoah parts and part numbers are the way to go. It's easy to do. I've had to do it.

I bought the spring, recoil and starter rope together for $7.49 Aust delivered. Still had to bore out a small section (.5mm) of the recoil starter as it’s a stepped fit. It works well now.

I Just bought a china brush cutter no name, luckily Is an old Mitsubishi exact clone, i verified searching photos of the engine block, cylinder, exhaust, recoil assembly and others spare parts, identifying the original machine before you buy the clone Is the best thing to do to be sure to have parts and an idea of the reliability acheivable, if you are mechanically inclined you can get a good machine for very cheap! It may need some minor work but Is worth It and fun

I have a DeReal 6220F. It's been OK - A good saw to throw on the quad or Jeep. I let my son use it when he was younger and interested in helping dad cut wood. I will say, these saws seem to come with a factory muffler mod and with a hand filed .325 chain, hold their own with my Farm & Ranch versions of Stihl and Husky - of course until the pull rope breaks. It's actually more than I expected for $120.00 though. Thanks for the video!

This is why these saws find their way into the local land fill. Most people who buy these saws don't have the expertise to fix them. It looks like a spring from a Poulan 3300, or similar, would work. I've taken a few apart and rewinding the spring is not too difficult once you learn a few tricks. You probably have a Poulan starter you could tear apart and try. I guarantee it won't take 4 weeks! You can also just buy the spring already wound.

Chinese clones are great if you have other saws to use while you wait 4 weeks for the wrong part. If you really don't need a chainsaw, I would recommend the Chinese ones.

I lol at this. I don’t know what people expect. I just look at them as cases for saws you usually can’t get in your neck anyway unless you have lottery money. I’m no doctor or dain sturgeon, but I doo no the switches can not be as good as oem and if you can’t do a simple switch then why am I trusting the carburetor?? Then I know the cylinders were cast off a copy and not the plug… so I’m gonna bet the farm on the piston? Give me a break… “C’mon man!”

Yup, Husky basically bought the patent and renamed the strato technology to X-Torq. The stratofied engines burns cleaner and this exercise was Husky's way to become EPA complaint.

The recoils on these are always the weak point.. Aliexpress sells a all metal setup, those wemars are slick looking wish we had those here in the frozen wasteland. My supmix saws are both 54.5, marketed a 62, but they do make the big bore 48mm, which is 61.5.. Having said that my proyama "62cc" is 49.3...fuck I gave myself a headache

I've had a Chinese copy at home for years, it doesn't matter which manufacturer it is, and I'm waiting for one of my friends or relatives to come and borrow the saw. I give him the unopened box and tell him to do whatever he wants, but when he returns it, he has to work. I've already done it twice. I got the same one back, but in a new package. I once received a half assembled one without gas in the tank and it is waiting for the next victim.

I've ported a 42cc Troy Bilt to put the tutoring I've received from one of the OG porters to the test. I think its definitely worth the price. I paid $129 on sale for the one I did. I'm going to do a 46cc version for shits n grins too. Give it away like the 42 cc .

I have videos of the port job on this saw as well as my other Wemars. Just type in "Novice Lumberjack Wemars". You'll find all the videos and I believe this Wemars beat my 262XP. So yeah...it's totally worth it. Mine runs DAMN good, and I haven't even done the intake mods or a pipe muffler yet. They are excellent to practice on.

Unless the original spring is broken somewhere other than the ends, you should still be able to use it. As others have said, use heat, get it glowing hot before bending and it shouldn't break. Sometimes the parts search is part of the "clone" fun, sometimes it makes you wanna rip your hair out🤬😅

How To Get The Most Joy Out Of Your Chinese Saw: 1)Place saw outdoors on bare dirt or paved surface. 2)Dowse entire saw liberally with gasoline. 3)Light a match and toss at saw. 4)Ensure that saw is fully consumed before attempting to dowse flames. This will improve your life 1000% BONUS: Go out and buy an Echo, Husqvarna or Stihl. You will now ENJOY paying the higher price. WARNING: Do NOT attempt to repair your Chinese saw- it may actually somewhat work and prolong your misery. If You Have Not Bought A Chinese Saw: See above, and immediately go out and buy an Echo, Stihl or Husqvarna. It will save you money because you will not waste $100-$250 on a Chinese saw. Disclaimer: All of the above does not apply if you are a comedian- as Chinese saws can be a rich source of material for you.

IME, if you have the part in hand you can compare pics on aliexpress and get what you need. But it’s all a crapshoot because there are no parts numbers to match. Have had good luck with eBay and carb/rebuild kits (ignition etc). ps you should have ordered the one for the 62cc saw you dummy! 😂 Psps you gotta wind the recoil spring don’t you?

If people keep buying these Chinese junk saws, that’s all that will be left and guys that actually need a chainsaw to make a living will be left with nothing. There is an old say, what we except is what we will receive. Nobody needs a saw bad enough that they afford a real saw. I’d buy 4 samurai handsaws (or one silky) before I bought a junk chainsaw because 20 years from now you’ll still be using the handsaws. Not a knock on guys that pay for Chinese junk, it’s just the reality unfortunately. And we did it to ourselves. What’s the other saying, we have seen the enemy and the enemy is ourselves 🤷🏽‍♂️

They won’t if they go out of business because of the cheap clones people buy. Good company’s need to sell consumers saws just to keep the lights on so they can make quality saws. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Japanese motorcycles man. Japanese motorcycles. They were seen as junk, trash, unpatriotic. Motorcyclists HATED them. Japanese made junk. Everything from Japan was trash. But they sold to people who wouldn't have purchased a triumph or BSA, or Norton, or Harley-Davidson. Those bikes were expensive, big, and scary. Soooo....beginners and broke people bought up the Japanese motorcycles like bread and milk. And they found out that they weren't half bad. And when they were ready to step up, the companies had grown and now offered bigger bikes that were better built, so they just upgraded to the new Honda CB 750, or the Kawasaki KZ 900. And at THAT point...the Japanese had begun to build the best motorcycles ever built...and there was no looking back. We absolutely are incapable of stopping the forward advancement of China. And we shouldn't want to. At least, I don't think we should. I see nothing wrong with my money going to China vs. it going to some other country.
