The blue outfit reminds me of the overalls the mechanics used to wear in Quik Fit. Maybe if they need to add a stunt at the end he could do the jump from the advert.

I feel that the lyrics of the song could be related to the Eurovision itself, since Eurovision mostly is about the show and the politics, but he will not be changing his performance just to catch everyone's attention with the ''show'', he would rather like to represent the deeper meaning.

I wasn’t sure about the song after seeing the live performance but just watched the official video & I really like it now. It does sound like some other songs, it reminds me of James Blake’s Limit to Your Love at the beginning & goes on to sound a bit like Hozier, but I think it could qualify, hopefully stage presence will be improved! The video is much more engaging.

I don't mind this song even though it sounds like Rag n Bone man or Imagine Dragons. His outfit screams Prisoner cell block H and I was half expecting Val Lehman to appear behind him doing backing vocals

As someone that doesn’t even usually like this kind of song, I don’t know what it is that draws me to this song? I do enjoy it. It’s just barely outside my top 10. But I can’t even explain why?! I saw comparisons to Rag N Bone Man and Imagine Dragons, but I don’t care particularly for either of those artists….. I give it a confusion/10 but I enjoy it.

I absolutely adore this song - it's my 2nd behind Estonia so far - but sadly I do think the staging choices were intentional, and they need to change. It's a depressing song, and I think the lack of charisma and motion is meant to echo that, but indeed it just makes it look lifeless. A better staging for this could very well keep the essence of this but with some visuals or dancers that align with the message of the song. I really want to see this qualify, regardless of it breaking Latvia's NQ streak, but I do agree that the most likely outcome is that come May it hasn't really been improved and it comes 13th/14th in it semi.

I really want Latvia to qualify, Dons is a really nice guy and a good singer aswell....I hope they glow up the staging and the styling to give it a bit more drama. Like Cyprus last year, that was (imo) not as good a song nor singer and that still came top 15 I think..I don't think Hollow will get that result but I want to believe this can qualify with some proper staging.

I keep agreeing with you girls! I don't understand the fandom's obsession with this one. Dons sounds great, but has zero stage presence and charisma. The styling is truly awful. If you're gonna be this passive on the stage you better be an absolute snack!

Personally I really love the song, I would love it more if he sang some or all of it in Latvian (he released the song in Latvian first and changed it to English for Supernova). I just wish it was staged better

Last year, Latvia needed to change up the staging to make Sudden Lights work better, but they kept the NF package and NQ’d. Hopefully, they won’t make the same mistake this time.

The lyrics are fine and we said his vocal is brilliant. We just think the production sounds dated and the staging does nothing to elevate the song. But we're glad you like it - we can't all like the same things! 💕

I dont know whether it's too early to say it with only 18 songs announced, but i think this is quite a weak year so far. I had like 8 songs last hear that I LOVED. This year, we have half of the songs now and theres 2 that I like... Spain and Italy. - Fingers crossed for Lolanda for Portugal, because that song is BEAUTIFUL.

i think the song is fine, but i think Vēstulēs had a better chance of qualifying. Kur? was such a gorgeous song. I’m like Alesia michele and allergic to duets but my god was that gorgeous.

Pretty song, beautiful voice, boring performance. I think if you're not feeing able to sell the performance, you have to step up the staging and costume. Give the guys some wings, give me ribbons and light and smoke and glitter. Basically, yes, I agree with everying you're both saying 😂 ❤

It's so disappointing as a Latvian to watch Supernova every year -_- And half the time Latvians just send the most popular musician, not always the best song, imo. In recent years I've at least been able to save a couple songs from the show, this year not a single song stuck for me :/ I swear I'm about to go there and audition myself xD

Ok, I saw a couple of gay man opinions - they are contrastingly opposite to what women think, they are trembling from just the first 3 notes he made, and he captivates them till the end with the tears. Gay men don't even listen to the song - go via details straight away like - too many clouds, he reminds..., I don't like ballads - I like a mojito and a lot of sparkles.... That is what I observed so far. I will continue to check the reactions. Maybe I was just unlucky.

Weirdly enough it’s getting 1 point on my Eurovision scoreboard 🤷‍♀️ it’s pretty dull isn’t it. My thoughts exactly Nova with the passion in his performance. The reason I loved Irama from sanremo this year is the pure passion he showed through his face and body really sold the song. Although there’s not much improvement you can make with such a drab song so he probably shouldn’t waste his energy 😂 Since we commented how strong this year will be, it’s going down hill, FAST. The national finals tonight we’re abysmal 🙉

@@Novympia no the results went the way I wanted too. They were all pretty obvious. But hearing them live , I was very disappointed. Even melofest has hit an all time low 🙉 Im also glad Issak won for Germany over my favourite song by Bodine Monet ,because he clearly was the best vocally.

I am disappointed when Nova said ‘there’s no charisma’ that you didn’t cut to Debbie Steven’s on X Factor saying ‘no charisma????’ Probably a bit of a niche reference tbh. His musical video is much better. He looks half asleep 😂 You are so lucky you don't expect Baltic man to make a move on you. It is like that dude in other corner of the room, not looking at you, not even seem to be interested or noticing - that is totally courting 😂 My point is, he is being passionate here 😅 and expressing emotions. Alika's styling was so good that a host for Grammy awards ceremony streamed few weeks ago in 2024 had one of his outfits (light blue suit) looking alike 👌 😊

Agree that it is a bit boring, even if the song is beautiful and performed well, this will get lost if they don't amp it up somehow. Kind of hope they won't tho lol because it's up against The Netherlands in the 2nd semi and you know, gotta root for the home country! The artist for The Netherlands (Joost Klein) does hardstyle songs so I'm hoping it'll at least be memorable! Excited to see you cover it once it comes out!

I think the only way this qualifies is if older people listen to it, resonate with it, and vote for it. it definitely is not a song marketed for gen-z or millennials. not to say it's outdated or anything like that, but this is what the older generations want to hear out of new music.

It can't be that my two favorite queens are dedicating a video to Latvia. For the last few years, I don't want to watch Supernova at all because the song selection is really poor. Last year we sent a lullaby, the year before last a song about salad and pussy and the year before Samanta Tina, about which it is better without comments. I feel sorry for us. My younger sister really liked Dons when she was 6 to 10 years old, and many women around 45 also really like him. That's the approximate audience at Dons concerts. Even without hearing this year's songs, it was already clear to me that Dons would win our national finals. With love from a devoted fan in Latvia🇱🇻

Yeah their is to ballads in the whole contest so far and france is also good but they have the same structure just in a different language so I understand you but also not because they are quite the same both grasping and touching

Probably one of the most off reviews I've seen of this song. Dons is living this song on stage, can see the real passion in his eyes, he believes every word. For you to say he has no charisma is bogus and makes wonder about your ability to judge music, honestly. I'm glad most people are getting the song, though, but it's still so bizarre to watch this reaction video 💀

Funny is listening to someone saying, 'I'm probably doing it better!' Look at you, sitting by the TV/PC and telling the artist that you will do it better. I'm not talking only about Dons but all artists; all you 'TV' experts are funny :D Go sing, qualify for Eurovision, and show me that you can do it better :)

This song is so incredibly boring. I'm sorry, I said it. I'm gonna borrow from a tumblr that was rating the Miss Universe National Costumes, but this one was just Latvia voting "present". Like, this song is the bare minimum of submitting a performance. He sings it well, absolutely, but like... Its just nothing? There's something to be said for a classic entry, but this is rehashed and boring. Literally NOTHING unexpected. Like, the most interesting thing about his performance is that he's bald? Come on now...

Honestly I do not like his vocals, he's a good singer for sure, but I just don't like it personally. I also agree that it is so boring and forgettable! For his sake there should be better staging.

I am dissapointed that Dons reresents my country. It trully is missing something as it has potential to be a rock song or something with more grit than this purely bland balad😢
