Now is the month of Maying, When merry lads are playing, Each with his bonny lass, Upon the greeny grass, The Spring, clad all in gladness, Doth laugh at Winter's sadness, And to the bagpipe's sound The nymphs tread out their ground, Fie then why sit we musing, Youth's sweet delight refusing? Say dainty nymphs and speak, Shall we play barley break?

Paul Phoenix is always the extrovert type. Making a lot of facial expressions, throwing some moves around. Stephen was always the joker of the bunch while the others stood aside and let them have their moments. Or so now and then participate with 'm..

Especially as in the Middle Ages, it is well noted that May was the time of the year for many weddings to take place, as that was the month people took their annual bath. So they smelt good enough to get close to each other. Presumably, an annual bath was available for the young free and single people too. And that is what Madrigals are really all about 😅
