I remember watching the film with my dad for the first time when I was a child, this song came on and I look a quick look at my dad who had tears in his eyes, and he wasn't the type of man to show emotion he was more of a tough man kind of thing, now he's passed away and everytime I hear this song it reminds me of him and how much of a big softy he really was. This is almost a religious experience to me, it's very deep and personal, to the point it puts tears in my eyes instantly no matter when or where I hear it. It reminds me of how short our lives and the lives of our most loved ones are, thus making me a better person. Go hug your loved ones, they are all that matters.

It's beautiful though and some of the words are the same or bare resemblance to actual human language but they are in fact not and can be equated to mystical gibberish.

I remember, in 2002 I watched Gladiator for the 1st time, when I barely spoke a word of English, this lyric went through me and got me connected to it like nothing else, since then I have watched this movie at least once a year and never get enough of it. It is truly a masterpiece.

Not only do I love this movie but this song has always touched my heart and cause so much emotion in my spirit and I never knew why until now. Just reading the lyrics and translation let me know why I had such a strong connection to this song. It always remind me of an Angel singing a song of praise. I watched this movie with my late father and we loved the film. He was later set free in August 2007 and it is not until now that I understood why I have been so drawn to this movie as I would often suppress the urge to watch it . I miss my dad so much...this song lets me know that he is within Heaven’s gates.

This selection literally fills my Heart and Warms My Soul.....And Lisa Gerrard's voice and the measure of scale she achieves is mesmerizing.
