Trinity University Urban Studies Director Christine Drennon, Ph.D., traces San Antonio's legacy of racial and economic segregation using historic deed restrictions and government documents showing "redlining" of poor neighborhoods.
In this presentation at the Winter Convening of the city's Faith-Based Initiative on Feb. 21, 2018, Drennon also reveals how property wealthy school districts consolidated with each other and excluded poor areas such as Edgewood and San Antonio.
Her presentation shows how San Antonio came to be the most economically segregated city in the U.S.

10:50 How did it happen? Property & accumulation. Years of property policy piles up. Our street & neighborhood patterns are old - from the early 20th century.

I appreciate the history of racial/ethnic discrimination & redlining, but not of "economic segregation" as indicated above. This is a different component not yet addressed . . .

I'm pretty sure that people in South Africa got it a lot worse than San Antonio.
