I love the idea of the anime being in its own timeline, if we do get an anime original ending, then it would be a really cool way of having multiple cannon endings. I think if we are going to make comparisons between Eren and Zeke then the shot of Eren screaming may actually be the beginning of the Rumbling. Of course symbolically only, Eren had no body when that actually started. The butterfly may also be a reference to the “Butterfly Effect”, where despite the multitude of different paths one can take, the end result will always be the same. Hence, a deterministic reality that, alive or dead, pays no heed to what the butterfly does.
@bigeats25722 жыл бұрын
that is not the butterfly effect, its quite the opposite, a small change in a deterministic world can result in large changes to the future. AOT is a linear world that is deterministic meaning the butterfly effect does not apply to it.
@gerradfoster87772 жыл бұрын
@@bigeats2572 That is the point I was trying to make. Considering the last shot of the intro, the butterfly that is dead and torn apart, you get a sense that everything is exactly as it was meant to be. The real twist that idea presents is that it illuminates an important question posed several times throughout the series. Namely, why they must “pay for the sins of our fathers”. Once you realize that Eren was always the catalyst at key moments in the past, we realize that Eren was not only paying for his own sins, but that he was doing this by choice to achieve what he thought was the most ideal outcome for those he would leave behind.

@thelonewolfchris36452 жыл бұрын
eren's death is a fixed point in time, it was always going to happen, no matter what
@gerradfoster87772 жыл бұрын
@@BigfootRAHHH The idea of a deterministic reality does not exclude the concept of the butterfly effect. In essence, the butterfly effect is a game of “what if” to help us understand the ramifications of how our present actions can impact the future, and is based on an analysis of effects of past events. It should not be reduced to the way it has been portrayed in pop culture, where someone travels back in time and upon their return everything has changed. In AoT, Eren is not traveling back in time, returning to find things have changed in the present and then repeating the process until he gets the outcome he desires. Instead, the actions he takes to influence the past are taking place simultaneously from a place where time does not exist. The result is a deterministic reality of Eren’s choosing and not some hopscotch timeline. However, it doesn’t preclude the possibility of other timelines. Eren could have chosen any number of actions that could have resulted in different timelines, but each of those timelines would still be independently deterministic. The “Dune” series uses this same concept when Leto II, who can see the past, present and future simultaneously, sets out the path that he desires, the “Golden Path”. Thus, everything that happens in AoT is a result of the path Eren chose to produce the outcome he desired.

It made sense to me recently. Much like how the Reiss family founders changed as people and became both a past and present being with the Founder's influence, Eren is the same but with his Attack Titan he becomes a past, present, and future being. Like the line he said in the manga where they are all happening at once. Once he activated the Founder's power he had no control over himself and became a lost cause, only able to exist in Paths. Probably why the Attack Titan has always been a rebel against the Founder, they never meant to combine powers.

In Japanese culture the Red Scarf is a metaphor for an idea that's called the red string of fate that ties you and your soulmate. If you've ever seen the movie Your Name, the red string is what connects the main character's throughout time, even in death. Also the Japanese are very reserved in the way they express their emotions or love, that's why many people believe that Eren never loved Mikasa and there was no buildup. The opening is a chaotic, jumbled mess of Eren's incoherent thoughts of "I'm going to flatten the world," and "I love Mikasa but can't be with her," while we see the Rumbling in action in advance of the show even though it hasn't happened, as if we are like Eren during the end of season 3 in the chapel, seeing the future long in advance (pretty meta if you ask me). The ending is a more somber, metaphoric piece about the White Dove Bird (Eren obviously good one MAPPA) being destroyed before it can escape the cage it was in, symbolizing how Eren ultimately fails in the end and doesn't get his freedom. Whatever or not this proves the anime will create a original ending, aka the 'Final Timeline' where the events of the manga and the apparent other timelines before and after it, are all considered 'failures' and this new ending is the real, successful one.

In fact, it isn't impossible for Eren to love someone who's his close friend since they were still a child.😩 Of course, someone here will call it lame. But who cares? You're single, aren't you?😹 Just kidding. They have to remember that it isn't just about romance. It's full action since the beginning lol. Haters are exaggerating too much.
@aswadsyednaz30732 жыл бұрын
You don't seem to understand the "hating on emotions" and just simplifying it like that is dumb. Why aren't people hating on chapter 131? Eren literally was crying begging for forgiveness? Do you really think people hate to see emotions on Eren? NO. Eren is a guy who carries emotion with every sentences he says since season 1. From the anger of titans killing her mom,to changing the point of hate towards Reiner and Bertholdt,to hating himself from being useless in the cave and giving up on his life to the point where he can be cold to achieve his goal. This is the eren, a monster who has an emotional control beyond human,it was also stated by Levi in season 1. He can any emotion for any use. People hate this part of "i dont want mikasa to find another man uhhh" because it introduces romantic love in Eren without previous build-up to be part of the main conclusion. And yes,the show in the last chapter was a romantic tragedy,which is a genre of romance. The main plot,which was ymir,Eren and the rumbling had the conclusion (that none expected and none even thought of this idea because it was bad and full of contradictions) of "ymir saw mikasa kissing a head,stops the rumbling and 2000 years of mindset being free from his love to an abusser(stockholm syndrome bad explained and developed). The conclusion itself is LOVE CENTERED,which doesn't fit aot at all. Just think about it,the parts that are the less hated from the ending are the ones that are NOT related to the ymir shit,like Levi's conclusion for example. This level of writing is isekai level if we compare it to the rest of the story. This means the show overall had a 10/10 story and the last chapter just had poor pacing,lazy writing and rushed dialogues. In a normal show its understandable,in a show who went god tier level like AoT is literally dog-shit compared to chapters like 121 and 122. Also,the Eren crying for mikasa was fanservice that had 0 impact on the plot,obviously people WHO CARE about aot story will be mad at this. The main plot intended mikasa love towards eren being a parallelism to ymir fritz love towards the king,but the king didnt love her back so that means in order to make this work Eren doesn't have the need to love mikasa. If you put in that page "I would like to stay with you guys,and live a long life with you" fits far better because *It doesnt contradicts eren's goal (making his friends live good lifes) which in 138 is shown by eren saying to mikasa "Mikasa,forget about me and live a happy life" -> Now this is how you portray romantic feelings on Eren Yeager. *It also doesnt affect the plot and its not fanservice,is something that we knew eren would say at any moment,not a romantic pathetic plot twist. You talk big,but you guys can't analyze Eren Jeager easily like that. And simplifying the "uh people hate emotional eren". No,there are several reasons that shows why people love attack on titan as a good story with a good plot. I guess you are a huge shipper right? This ending was intended to be for shippers and casuals,who like to watch aot for Levi,mikasa or eren and nothing more so if you like it then yes,it was made for people like you. People liking the ending is fine,people hating the ending is also fine but you guys should understand the reasons why people hate this specific scene,and as someone who prefers Eren and Mikasa loving each other this shit was just fanservice thrown for brainless people. Overall the ending had good ideas like war never ending or the hallugicenia but the pacing and writing around this ideas was lazy,so idea good - execution bad. If we take out the ymir-mikasa plot twist then its a decent ending,the problem is that this shit was the main theme of the ending XD

I always thought about the manga being it’s own time line during the last 20 or so chapters of the manga. Thought it was a neat idea if Isayama did it. If that does happen I hope they animate eren looking at the end of the manga and choosing a different path, would be cool.
