Shout out to Garp this chapter! Living up to his name as a legend! He had no diff'd Aokiji in round one, left to go beat up the rest of the Blackbeard pirates, even using two of them as shields, took a sword through the gut to save Koby, one shotted Shiryu and fought Aokiji again in round two where they clashed with regular Armament haki and sent each other flying. Aokiji told the Blackbeard pirates that even if they restrained both of Garp's arms and legs, they still wouldn't be able to beat him 😂

Theory: Dragon was trained by Garp in the marines made it up to a division to work close with the celestial dragons...and what he witnessed them do forced him out of the marines. Garp holds a grudge against them and swore not to be controlled by them. He also decided not to train anyone anymore until Kuzan came along.

Garp won’t die here. Not without luffy or Blackbeard present. He’s too important to have a lesser character take him out. I think it’s more likely he gets saved last minute. For instance I forsee a golden Buddha taking out those island hands with his palm shockwaves or something like that.

Usopp is far better than koby, his skills always come in clutch at the most desperate times. Also he has singlehandedly saved luffy several times despite him considered as weak. This side of usopp has been explored quite well, dispite his shortcomings he doesn't back out. Even though stampede being not cannon, when usopp stood up to bullet when the worst generation was manhandled like fodder by him to protect luffy.

Well I think that garp will escape as he is not that badly injured and we also have bogard to show up. I personally believe that garp is too big of a character to just die here, yeah he would be injured and may have to recover for a few weeks but I think he will manage to get out of this ordeal.

in the chapter 1087 there's actually a glimps of bogard on the ship. is he gonna finally show what he is capable of? meanwhile an attack coming toward their ship i think it's the best time to showcase this character capability. and then ofcourse the old marine need to show up if not they aint making out of there atleast for the rest.

If garp does pass away or luffy finds out the situation he’s in, it would be sick to watch luffy get all serious and not be his normal goofy self due to the trauma of losing ace and not wanting to lose someone else again that even the straw hats know not to say anything it would also be cool to watch zoro see this side of luffy do something like simply placing his hand on his shoulder reassuring his friends have his back to help him since he’s the one who’s known luffy the longest and you gotta admit if luffys the only one who can make zoro smile in this type of scenario it’s understandable that zoro would be the only one to reach luffy to.

This is definitely setting up Luffy and koby vs BB which parallels Roger and Garp vs Xebec seems fitting considering BB has xebecs will and dream and luffy has roger's will and koby has garp will/ they share the same idea of justice (up until now luffy needed a solid reason to fight BB other than just being rivals to find one piece, only BB had a some what decent reason to fight luffy which is the poneglyhs that luffy posseses and now with Garp more than likely dead luffy has that reason).

Even after Ace died, Luffy was still weak and didn't master haki until he met Katakuri, who helped him master ACoO and then Wano arc when Hyogoro helped him master ACoA and Kaido helped him master ACoC.... Unlike Luffy, Koby didn't even have conqueror's haki pre time skip so I highly doubt he randomly unlocks it now. Koby isn't that guy and never will be.

For christ sake, there was only one time we ever seen these two together, and was when Dragon came to save Luffy from buggy and smoker. I'm pretty we sen Gon from Hunter x Hunter spend more father-son time with Ging, and that is saying A LOT. But Garp is very different, and has actually spend more time teaching his grandsons, Luffy and Ace, life lessons on growing, and spend family.
