Just solved a big mystery about all monsters taking damage at the same time. That single point was worth the video.

A common issue when you first get started with roll20. It used to drive me crazy.

Question: I bought an initiative, and it contains an NPC that players can talk to and recruit for a fight that breaks out later in the scene. The pack came with the terrible word tokens you mentioned in the video but they are just dead tokens. The NPC does not have a character sheet and the stats are mentioned only in the DM guide for the initiative. It doesnt even say what attacks the npc has. Do you have a video that shows you how to add stats to a dead token to make it be able to participate in a fight?

Hey CrashGem - your videos have been instrumental in allowing me to sharpen my Roll20 skills for my gaming groups, so thank you! One question - I think you implied it in this video, but I was pulling monster tokens over from the journal or the compendium, but if they are all the same "kind" of monster or NPC (i.e. "Drow"), injuring one injures all of them. So you mentioned de-linking the hit points. Is that the best way that you've found?

You are very welcome! Yup, for example if the monster has 50 hit points I would punch in 50/50 but for linked attribute put "none"

Are these paid subscriber features? This has been driving me crazy. When I try this it only makes a generic icon. (It does link to the monster info, at least.)

Dynamic lighting is a paid feature. But linking a token, changing out the art, and hotkeys to quickly open the linked token are all free.

@@CrashGem but still: when i search for drow I only get the text. No Image in the list, no image or correct token if i drag it inside the game... and all the d&d logos on the side with srd but i got nearly every rule book lend by a friend for a campaign did you adjust that all by yourself? thx

@@johannis94 I don't think having access to books through shared compendium also enables access to the art packs that come with them.
