anyone else come back and listen to this every once in a while and then become completely re-obsessed with them or is that just me :’)

Almost 2023! They were my great discovery of 2022 at age 63!

The Avetts make me cry regularly because they somehow reach my cold, dead heart. I can't explain that.

More than six years later, I still get goosebumps every time about half way through Laundry Room.

I swear Seth channels the divine when he plays. There is nothing greater than this band's music and their live performances. The world is better because of The Avett Brothers!

Still here in Jan 2021, I watch this over and over again. Yes to inviting them back!

The Avett Brothers' music has changed my life! I know that's a huge statement to make, but they are the first band in a long time that actually has "spoken" to me. From, Mignonette to Emotionalism to Four Thieves Gone to I and Love and You. These guys speak from their hearts and you can really hear it in their music! I love The Avett Brothers!

I love they just kill that first song and as soon as they're done they act like they don't know where they are. You have to love someone that pours that much energy and love into something they do, but at the same time seem so genuinely humble about it.

12 yrs after being introduced to the avett Brothers, I still like them better live than in a studio..... with that being said, get them back on here!

Okay, so I am 71 years old, remember Frank Sinatra in the 1950s, Perry Como, Patti Paige, then was there when Elvis burst on the scene, then Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, and then the Beatles, then Janis Joplin, etc, etc, etc. But I have to tell you, I haven't heard much better than what these guys are doing! This is just fine stuff. All three songs are great. This is music to my ears, for sure, with excellent music and excellent lyrics as a big bonus. Hope these guys are around for a long time.

I've been listening to this video for about 4 years now. And I still find Laundry Room so impactful that it seems few songs can come close to it, I only wish it went on for longer. They really knocked it out of the park on this session!

you don't often hear vocals more powerful than all of the instruments combined. These guys are amazing

Anytime I listen to the Laundry Room studio version I sing this version instead. Incredible how many harmonies these guys layer their songs with. True musicians

I stumbled upon this band a couple of weeks ago, I can't get enough, it's like they are singing to my soul. They seem like really good guys too.

"Tonight I'll burn the lyrics, 'cause every chorus was your name."

This version of Laundry Room is incandescent. I love it so so so so so much.

I like to come back here every month or so just to see Scott playing that guitar tucked under his arm without a strap on Bella Donna. Five years later he's still the coolest man around.

In October 2019 I met a man. We spent 3 years trying to make it work. It didn’t. But he introduced me to the Avett Brothers and I will always love him just for that. What a gift these guys are.

They are amazingly gifted musicians. I have seen them perform live several times, and they are masters of their craft. Bravo. This Tiny Desk Concert never gets old. Sing on.. Avett Brothers!!!

I remember the first time I heard the Avett Brothers. I drove straight to my best friends work called him out to my car and informed him that I had fallen in love. To his surprise my new love affair was a band. This romance has only grown with each new albulm and every concert attended. The Avett Brothers will always hold a place in my heart and soul!

Wtf they're literal gods. That was one of the coolest live recordings ever.

I remember the first time I heard this sound booming from somewhere in the belly of Rowe Arts at UNCC.... enchanting as it was... I was actually breathless and respectful when during a fortunate midnight break from the computer lab I was standing in the lobby at just the right position to see these guys emerging, all unassuming, from a fluorescent lit side hallway.... I was in shock to realize they had been making those sounds. You ever see a couple and it’s so easy for them, it’s so natural, and they just are?... you feel happy they found each other.... It was like that when I saw the guys for that moment in the hallway... I just stared. We all nodded a hello. And I knew I had just witnessed something special.

Still watching in 2023. Looking forward to seeing Swept Away in D.C. later this month!

I remember finding this back in 2008/2009 and I still cry when I watch it. You guys and amazing ✌️

So much passion it is amazing. No mics needed, no amps needed just their beautiful voices and beautiful instruments. I am in love with this set.

The artistry, the love, the kindness and a certain truthfulness is always so apparent in their lyrics and their music. "No Hard Feelings" will hopefully be played at any service I might have. They broached the subject that we all have to confront in our own way, in a masterful way.

Okay so, I was on this random "KZfaq Video Watching Marathon" and somehow found myself watching this channel... I'm gonna be here a while. So awesome!!

just one of the all time best live bands....my first concert when i was 13, now will be seeing them for the 6th time next year!

This has always been one of my favorite videos. Who cares what's outta tune. It's what's coming out of their mouths that's so perfect.

Does anyone recognize the vital role of that cello[?]? It saved them from becoming just another band. Also, the two voices of the brothers is just stupendous. I love the band and put them right up there with the Head and the Heart.

I have listened to this constantly for the better part of 3 months. Pure music from my home state :D

I first saw these guys at Springfest in Florida in like 2004. Instantly blown away. There's really nothing else like them.

One for the ages - an NPR Tiny Desk Masterpiece - you will not find the Avett Brothers in this form anywhere else - raw - harmonizing - tuning in tune - Outstanding!

Saw a live show in SF,Ca. in October; Simply Magical! Not to be missed! Four of us in our group, None of us knew the Avett Bros.(came for the opener, excellent, also!) Will see again, don't know how many instrument strings these artists broke during show, someone would hand them another, and they kept on going . . . Wow!!

I watch this literally at least 3 times a day...Hasn't gotten old.

They are amazing live. I always recommend their shows because they just have a whole vibe and feeling to them and they play and sing so beautifully. I've been a fan for years and will always love them!

I have loved this band since I found their track "if it's the beaches" which is one of my favorites! .... in me opinion, they are (a tad gritty, a smidge rough) both good qualities!, & create true honest wonderful music! Keep it up guys!!

Just listened to this "concert" again, and now I am thinking these guys are the best lyricists out there right now. Their music is also fine quality. I expect to hear these guys a lot more across the country. Just great stuff. Thanks NPR, for this excellent programming.

I get more impressed with Seth Avett every time I hear him.

Honest... For me their music transcends and has the ability to take me on little trips... The lyrics, a rift, the mood of a song somehow helps to clarify some of my most beautiful memories. Usually while working with and surrounded by grounded realists doing what they can to either better themselves, the things that surround them, or do what they can to learn the truth of the past so they can do what they can to avoid it in the future or help one wronged by it. Typically in and under those circumstances, i.e. active war zones, extreme poverty, refugee camps, and/or even being around extreme excess and suddenly realizing you are helping to perpetuate it in some way... its in those moments I've found make the best time to escape and run as fast as you can and surround yourself with beauty and silence of our environment offer.s I need to escape to remain sane and effective and it is finding those extremes... beauty in the midst of the ugliness of the human condition that makes it so much more moving.. That music takes me to the Cacapon in the mountains of W.VA, or cooking over a fire using a spit made out of locally found twigs on the bank of the Neretva in Mostar, BiH, the peacefulness of the winding Snake River in that huge valley looking up at the Tetons in Wyoming. The music reminds me I am nothing and everything at the same time, I or we have learned so much and come so far in the past thirty or forty years in our understanding of each other and the universe. We have CERN and I have spent time in Nations that have set the perfect example for the rest of us to follow.... Do yourself a favor and stay in that utopia as long as you can don't turn on the TV as you will quickly be reminded of how far we have to go. Thanks Avett Brothers for reminding me of the beauty in the human spirit that has held on through the darkest of times.

I have contributed exactly 10k of these views. Remember watching this video in college and always come back. If any of my friends haven't heard of The Avett Brothers before, I put this on, just to give them a taste. I'll never stop returning to this tiny desk concert as a comfort.

Today I discovered the Avett brothers, life just got a bit sweeter. I'm a city girl from the midwest that lives in Asia and am married a hick from sticks. Feeling like I just found my roots? Weird, and charming or something. I and thanking JC for youtube right about now.

They are just so musically inclined, true classic music!! Like The Staves, harmony just comes naturally. Love love love them.

All these comments about tuning. One thing that makes the Avetts special is that they don't care about being perfect, they don't want to be perfect. They want to be sincere, sing songs from the heart with honesty and real emotion that their audience can connect with. It takes a special kind of musician to be able to pull that off, but the Avetts do it better than anyone. All their mistakes show how human they are. They don't want to pretend to be better than anyone else.

Love the Avett Brothers' harmonies and modulations. Great to listen to. Great to see these guys doing what they do so well.

I noticed the date that this video was posted. It reminded me of when I first fell in love with their music, 12 years ago. Time flies! Thanks guys, for the great music!!

Laundry Room kills me every damn time I hear it.

Watching in 2022, seen a dozens shows, but the chemistry between Scott and Seth still makes me tear. They’re just so good at making each other better musically.

I love the jam at the end of Laundry Room! Every time this version comes on, I have to stop what I'm doing to watch it.

Once they play and their voices rain over the audience...I didnt even notice that an instrument was out of tune. The nature of their music sits at the very human center of emotions and imperfections...and it makes them so compelling. Anyone that wants to obsess about the tunings....should go to an orchestra performance.

I literally called them weekend NPR music in my head a few videos ago and now that thought came to fruition.

I love them so so much. I've seen them twice live and can say that it is the more impressive show I've ever seen.
