@@MrJoshiej I still have them though I haven't worn them in ages. I wore them almost every day but I would say at a minimum of 3days out of 7days for a period of time followed by 7 days out 7 for a period of time. Alot of running around on the concrete city streets. It was probably 2 years of this sort of wearing that I started having problems with them.

diehard wears good. had a pair i could not wear down. The uppers wore out before the bottoms

To smooth the Leather I would use Renovating Cream really makes a big difference

8 eyelet laces is 150cm and 11 eyelet laces is 180cm

All Feet are different but I go for my usual size 8 with Steel Toe Cap or non Steel Toe Capped best thing to do is get advice from Solovair they are very good at that and your very welcome

Im planning on getting some Gripfast a change from my usual size of Solavair 8n holer boots and im going up half a size because of the steel toe cap and your feet swelling and if you have the coated ones there's no breathability for your feet and all that.@@MrJoshiej

Hey bro I have black Nappa 1460 8 eye docs made in England then I decided to get some southerner 11 eye steel toe derby boot from Solovair in the. Same size as my docs. I wear a UK7/US 8 in both boots

Nothing beats a DM... well, apart from pretty much any other boot. The quality of DMs has fallen drastically. They're cheap boots with a high price and poor design. A boot with no shank whatsoever, just cheap foam? A "Goodyear welt" that is really only a half welt and a heat welded sole that is barely attached to the upper? The soles wear out really quickly and without a shank, they soon become misshapen.

I will know that for next time I have heard so many others say it that way

I am by no means an expert on these but the history behind the Docs interested me for a few years now. The term "AirWair" was registered as a trademark in 1993 or 1995...I honestly can't remember. AirWair referred to the unique soles of the boot so before 1993 you never had a pair of Docs which had an "AirWair" tag on them. 1993 and afterwards the tags said: "AirWair" and "with bouncing soles". Before 1993 they had these tags: "with cushion soles" and "Dr.Martens". It also said on the box / in the ads: "Dr Martens...air cushion soles by Solovair (made by british craftsmen)" So before 1993 they literally stated openly that they (R. Griggs) made the upper - but Solovair did the soles. Solovair wasn't a company it was just a name...Which NPS registered as a trademark for their own business after the collaboration with R. Griggs ended. Solovair however did make boots with the iconic yellow thread in the beginning but that led to legal issues quickly. Even the sole had the same color as the ones on the Docs in the beginning. What is totally beyond me is the fact that they are so proud of their heritage and history, started making 1% of sales in England again...and then delivering such a poor product (MiE models). It's like doing a sprint and giving up 4 meters before the finish line... I got my first pair in 1992 or 1993 I can't remember. Got a never worn post 1993/1995 pair (AirWair)...sadly they are one size too small. But when they arrived...the smell of the soles. It has a distinct smell...and I instantly was 12 again. Really was a bit of a flash for me. Maybe dumb but they sit in storage in their original box. Please forgive my bad english 😄...

The protestants wore black 9 inchers with red laces, to show they were willing to spill Catholic blood , and the catholic Celtic supporters word ox- blood 9 inchers to show they were catholics, when docs became popular in Britain, it came from the football hooligans, and had zero, zilch, the nothing to do with skinheads , we were " bootboys ya bass" 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 happy healthy peace ✌️.
