Not sitting in the car and pumping the pedal to start the car has nothing to do with the condition of the engine. it has to do with whether it's carbureted or fuel injected. carburetors require pumping so the fuel can mix and atomize with the incoming air through the intake before entering the cylinder. Fuel injection cars spray the fuel under high pressure as the air is entering the cylinder so no need for pumping the pedal. the pressure and activation of the injector essentially does the exact same thing as pumping the pedal. of course you still get people who think pumping the pedal while starting the car helps in a modern injected car, but oh well, habits are hard to break :) Surburbans and Tahoes (Suburban's little brother, old K-5 Blazers were renamed to Tahoe but it's the same truck) are some of the best cars US has made and still makes. I have the 2022 model here in US and it's still just as durable and impressive as the older models. Fuel consumption on the other hand ! ... lol... let's not talk about that :)
