Holmes does not have contact with the player on the way down, there's no force from him, the problem is a coming together of 3 players and the ball-carrier's leg snagging on Holmes underneath him as he's tackled. I'd be interested to watch the officiation review speech that NRL puts out on this one. Looks like even with a slo-mo video they got it wrong. For the record: Holmes is one of my all-time favourite players but I'm reporting what the visuals suggest. Otherwise solid game by Cowboys and some great tries by Holmes.

Reminds me a bit of mam last year. Tackled a Parra player and was swung around in the process and landed on his legs… it was at best an accidental hip drop, but got time. Haas did a worse one but escaped.

Tom Dearden pushed Holmes, that was not a hip drop tackle. TMO is smoking some good stuff up there

Nah mate was a hip drop .. lost his feet and came down on the legs. Dearden impacted after that. You need to open you bias eye too.

@@brendan9340 Mate the judiciary are worse than the refs for consistency they will suspend someone next week for less. So if your evidence is just the judiciary.. baa haaa haaa .. those idiots suspend Leniu for a single comment but no issue with half the Broncos team repeatedly making the same comment in last year's GF. Open you bias eye. Next you will be saying the NRL does not baby the Broncos.

I'm a Tigers supporter and that was no way a hip drop by Holmes, it was a legitimate attempt at tackling...what a joke decision.
