Yes, mites are crawling insects. They are arachnids, like spiders and ticks and wingless, so they move around by crawling.

@@kumankumaantonakumeysarpon8954 even if its still a crawling insect. How can a dragon fly be a crawling insect. So their answer was not even close. Secondly, in agriculture, mites are sometimes classified under insects as well. Thirdly, even if Owass got it right on the first clue, Kuhis still wins.

Body Segmentation: Arachnids typically have two main body segments-the cephalothorax (prosoma) and the abdomen (opisthosoma). Mites also exhibit this segmentation, although it can be less distinct in some species. Eight Legs: Adult arachnids have eight legs, and mites are no exception. However, it's worth noting that some mite larvae might have only six legs, but they develop eight legs as they mature. Exoskeleton: Like other arachnids, mites have a chitinous exoskeleton that provides structural support and protection. Lack of Antennae: Unlike insects, arachnids, including mites, do not have antennae. Simple Eyes: Arachnids usually have simple eyes (ocelli), although the number and arrangement can vary. Mites may have eyes, but in some species, eyes are reduced or absent. Respiratory System: Many arachnids breathe through structures called book lungs or tracheae. Mites typically use tracheae for respiration. Feeding Structures: Arachnids often have specialized mouthparts for feeding. Mites possess chelicerae, which are appendages near the mouth used for feeding and sometimes defense, similar to other arachnids.

Mites are considered insects because they possess the key characteristics of insects, despite their small size and arachnid-like appearance. Here's why: 1. *Body structure*: Mites have a three-part body (head, thorax, and abdomen), like all insects. 2. *Six legs*: Mites have six legs, like insects, during their larval stage (although they develop eight legs as adults). 3. *Segmented body*: Mites have a segmented body, a characteristic shared with insects. 4. *Exoskeleton*: Mites have a hard exoskeleton, like insects, which they molt as they grow. However, other arachnids, like spiders and ticks, are not considered insects because they: 1. *Lack a three-part body*: Arachnids have a two-part body (cephalothorax and abdomen). 2. *Have eight legs*: Arachnids have eight legs, unlike insects, which have six legs (at least in their larval stage). 3. *Different respiratory system*: Arachnids have book lungs or tracheae, whereas insects have a network of tracheae. So, while mites are closely related to arachnids, their insect-like characteristics earn them a spot in the insect class (Class Insecta).

Because Prempeh is not doing well? Each round has specific instructions. Sometimes the Mistress wants full answers, in other rounds it wants short answers. They are also avoiding discretion by the mistress in order to avoid post-quiz challenges. Oseey Kuhis

In the quarter-finals, the Stephen guy gave an answer to a riddle " Triangle inequality theorem" but the quiz mistress said no, and she gave "Triangle inequality" as an answer. Example to a less educated individual: Question: Who is the president of Ghana? Student: "President Akufo Addo" Quiz mistress: No, the answer is "Akufo Addo" Why?: Because this is the "Marking Scheme" or the "Answer Key" I (the quiz mistress) was given" I am an alumna of Konongo Odumase SHS (Great KOSS) and an American-trained Entomologist (ESA), I'm a little bit worried if this is what is currently being taught in our various schools across Ghana and the reason why some students don't pass their exams.
