Anita, I live in India. Life is cheapest here. I live comfortably in a metro city bigger than Nairobi but still have an average monthly cost of Ksh. 15000. The country is the seventh largest economy in the world and has 10% economic growth annually. I don't get your point. The government should shield the people from economic surges.

Many development countries 1. priority is to make sure that basic needs is affordable to the common mwananchi. If you want to talk about aiming to be a developmed country, ask yourself what the tax money you pay your government does for you.
