One of the best grooves of all time. Melting into space and expanding to the sun

After watching this, two things come to mind. First off, this is a nice interpretation of one the lesser known weather report songs. Second, I don't know what Joe Zawinul was more fierce at, keyboard/synthesizer playing and programming or composing the actual songs especially this one.

The one thing that Zawinul was underrated for was his synth programing. Scott Kinsey is the only one I've heard that comes close to essence of what Zawinul was about. Some still treat synths in jazz as something dirty and taboo. Lots of great keyboard players around but no great synthesists. Herbie,Chick, Hammer.... where's the new breed?

Takes two to get half a Jaco but this is a fine effort !

Great band- very good performance- top marks. The keyboardist-very fine player- I miss Zawinul's keyboard SOUNDS..This guy needs to get away from the organ/stringy sounds and get more organic and sounds that have more punch. He didn't cut through that well-great solo but it needs more attack..Beautiful alto sax player too..

too bad they left out the little triangle , ping - ping -ping!

Good effort. They've picked out some of the motifs rather than try to play the piece intact.

Bravi ma e un po un " butta su..." non si senta la liberta eterea che avevano i weather. Andrei in sottrazione curando piu i dettagli. Cmq bravi.
