@@JustHorace aint no way youre that naive. A normal hydrogen bomb explosion isnt even big enough to reach space during an air or ground blast. If you make the bomb bigger it also wont increase the damage just because its bigger and it wont be a parellel increase compared to the size of the hydrogen bomb. If the nukes damage (Radius, blast power, radiation) would be increased by that much it still would barely reach the moon and that only with radiation and mushroom clouds which wouldnt really do much since the other moons and planets are uninhabited. Mars is 140 times further away than the moon.

Use a smaller nuke with optimal altitude airburst. Skip the the U²³⁸ tamper, the Lithium Deturide fusion booster, and leaving out other stuff so free neutron output is maximized, instead of being captured in additional fission & fusion. @@Wheeley1337 I don't remember anymore. Probably because the damage would be greater. Larger area would get destroyed since the shockwave etc could expand more freely. But not 100% sure anymore.

Nuclear Bombs can do both. It's just that you get more fallout from an airburst, which means more of your enemy's territory is left inhospitality radioactive.
