Great video! I like how you put surface on a pearlized bowling ball to show how you can change the reaction. I think many bowlers get caught thinking they can't put surface on a shiny bowling ball. You just showed that you can and wow, what a different ball!

My impression is that the surface resulted in more consistent and smoother outside reaction, but reduced inside miss area. The shiny ball was the opposite: misses in held nicely, but misses outside were a bit squirrely. I recently did the same experiment with the Ethos, with similar results.

Awesome comparison video JR! I watched your surface change video on the Hammer Envy Tour Pearl and I took it down to 2000 and it made this ball so good took the over/under away and was still continuous. Thank you for that. CTD pads 2 thumbs up!!!

Not long ago, maybe a month, I hit my widow 2.0 hybrid with a 3000 pad just to get it to blend a touch better. WIth factory finish it was just a bit too over/under and sharp at the back end. I had never done that before, but it was eye opening how much better a ball can roll with such a small adjustment.

I like your vids and value your opinion. You know your stuff. Do you have a ball recommendation for a senior that throws around 13 mph, revs match my speed, on old wood lanes? I just bought a Black Venom and its pretty much unusable, hooks too much and I have to fight it.

Yeah dull reactive for me just mean 9 count games. Unless I'm absolutely perfect and even then I get the occasional tap. Can't go below 2k for leagues. Even sports shots it loses too much energy unless you just heave it with no hand
