The Ills of Modern Man is the greatest deathcore album of all time. These men are legends. Also Purgatory is a sick fucking record. The guitar is always just NASTY.

Wow I didn’t realize that when I first saw them in 2005 that it was one of their first ever tours in the US! Only saw them that one time, until now, I have tickets for the upcoming tour with Dying fetus and acacia strain and I am STOKED to see the homies again!

J'vais toujours me rappeler d'la première fois que j'ai vu Despised en show dans un petit bar miteux à Alma au début des années 2000, j'avais été mindblown par la brutalité d'leur son. J'tais habitué au gros Death Metal à l'époque, mais pour moi le band que j'avais dans face s'tai next level ben raide. J'ai pas arrêter de les suivres depuis ce temps là pi j'confirme que le dernier album me ramasse la face à chaque écoute !

Never been a fan of their music but they always seemed like nice dudes, and this history lesson video is great ! I recommend everyone to watch the old full length documentary about the history of the band (including when they started to get tense and eventually broke up in the first place).

Actually a beautiful story. Having seen these guys a couple times way back in the day and listening to their shit back in '05 and '06 makes me really happy I had the opportunity to experience part of it. Saw them once at this shitty dive bar "Doug's Bar" in a town in Illinois and one of the speakers blew when the bass drop hit in "MVP" The guy who ran the bar was sooo PISSED LMFAO. One drunk asshole was flailing around swing-fisting everyone on the edge of the pit, really anyone in his vicinity hahaha. Dude got kicked out. Main takeaway Despised, at least the 2 times I saw them, put on 2 of the absolute best live performances out of any band I ever saw. Like in the story... always giving it their all. Tiny bar, big venue... the same energy. I love this band with all my heart. Grind forever Despised Icon!

Despised icon is deathcore with the death metal / grindcore element still very strong in its sound. Modern core sounds nothing like this band.

I still think that metal pig squeals are fucking stupid, but for some reason, I can tolerate them from Despised Icon. Ills of Modern man is still in the top 10 on my playlist
