Hello my Beautiful People! Welcome to a very exciting night in the studio! I am creating the second piece in my Goddess Series, Nuit: The Great Goddess of the Sky. My dear friend Fiona from ‪@Fiona-Art‬ suggested this goddess and I'm very glad she did! Lets get started!
Nuit or Nut was the Egyptian Great Goddess of the Sky. She was married to Geb, the Egyptian God of the Earth. Pictures of them adorn temples in Egypt still today. Geb is pictured reclining and Nuit is above him, arched over the Earth like a protective canopy. Nuit was revered as the Night Sky, her role was to be the barrier between the ordered world and chaos, keeping the Earth safe. She is known as the Mother of Gods, the Mother of all the Planets and Stars and the protector of the living and the dead.
I am using a 24x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas from Artists Loft.

In the story of Nuit, she and her husband Geb are separated by her father at the request of Ra, the Sun God. Her father was Shu, the God of Air. He separated Nuit and Geb and lifted her high above his head, leaving Air between the Earth and Sky.
In tonight's painting I will be using flip cups layered appropriately for the Night Sky, Air and Earth.
I'm very happy with how this turned out, I think its beautiful. I even see a suggestion of Nuit's face in the Night Sky part. I would love to know what you think, please leave me a comment in the comments section!
