My parents heard these sirens when they were 18-19 in 1999 and it still freaks them out when they hear it. Gives me chills..

for future reference, after researching I found that the EAS signals will never play erratically even in a situation like this. channels will simply cut broadcast, play the three initial header tones, then play the beep. for things like this, the TTS voice used is usually NeoSpeech Paul, though I've had a hard time getting a decent download of it. also, for those in the US wanting to make one of these with the EAS tones, *_do not broadcast it on radio!!_* it is EXTREMELY illegal and can cause a huge fine from FEMA.

I remember one time I was awake at like 4 in the morning and every single siren went off in my city and I thought we were under attack and so I ran downstairs but my whole family was asleep so I didn’t wake them up because I would rather them die unaware and peacefully then to die how I was going to. Later to find out a hacker hacked our entire siren system.
