Late last year while surfing the Numark DJ website, I noticed that the beloved TTX professional DJ turntable was listed in the "Discontinued" section. That's because they were working on a new flagship turntable called the Numark NTX1000. This new deck replaces the TTX and has a metal rugged construction, high torque direct drive motor, and everything else anyone would want in a professional DJ turntable. Lastly, it has everything I need: counterweight, replaceable cartridge and stylus, metal tonearm, height adjust, decent tracking force, direct drive and overall good quality.

Just got these a couple weeks ago. I like them a lot better than the Stanton t92's because of the way the rca cables are set up. Also on the Stanton's, I didn't like where the power button was. I had to lift them out of the case to turn them on and it was getting annoying. I've had my eye on these for a while and I'm very happy with them.

This is a great review, I actually haven't had the chance to get my hands on these. I've always been a huge fan of the TTX, and i'm glad Numark continued with a slightly less traditional look. However, these look like they took a step back from those and in terms of build quality the TTX has stood the test of time, I wonder how these will hold up over the years.

I just found from other youtube reviewer about the pitch problem with the denon turntable. its not response between -1 to +1 range. Do this have the same issue? really need anyone help for this. thanks

The connectors on the side is a concept that's really grown on me. If you use these as part of club-style setups the cables can be hidden better rather than protruding from the rear of the unit.

i bought a pioneer plx 500 and it would only play the highest and lowest frequencies when i hooked it up to a preamp or mixer. do usb turntables always sound terrible when not using the usb cord or does this one sound decent?

Was the turntable grounded and in a proper PHONO input on the mixer/controller? Were the needles and cartridges of high quality? The playback should have been just fine on the PLX-500... Not really great to DJ with, but sound is OK.

It might be the best looking deck for under $500, but for only $200-$250 you can find an Epsilon or DJ Tech SuperOEM turntable with the same features and maybe even better tonearm and motor...

I feel that the Mixars turntable is built more sturdy than the NTX1000. I like the super-OEM feel better than the NTX1000 honestly...

How are these for scratching and learning turntablism? Im planning on buying my pair of first TT's but i dont want to spend 2000 on equipment as a bedroom beginner. But i also dont want to buy something to cheap for 200-300$ and still not be able to learn. Do you recommend i get these or The RP 7000's ?

I think the RP7000's are stronger and a bit better but the Numark NTX1000 is still a pro turntable! A turntablist would be able to use either and do the same tricks...

reloop 7000 cost about 400 £ and you need to buy decksaver and headshell separately that will increase price to about 500 £ . Reloop will cost you 350. If you can stretch your budget bit more buy reloop 8000 with midi control if no numark 1000 is better value for money than reloop 7000 and one more thing.... it's just my opinion ;)

@djbooth @kareem could you let me know if the pitch is stable on this turntable cos I used to have a pair of gemini turntable that was never stable on pitch, it was always racing up and down and that put me off turntables for a very long time and now am trying to get back to it.

The ST150 is still better. It has more weight, more rubber, and is a better all around turntable than the NTX1000

I like the Super-OEM quality of the Epsilon, but this has better looks and overall feel. It's a close call....

Did you notice any rumble if you used real vinyl? I'm interested to get these and I'm wondering if they'd be good in a club environment or with a lot of bass and noise around.

No real rumble but in a club environment, I would get decks that are heavier than this if you can afford them...

@@RealDJblaze Yeah that's kinda what I was expecting. I'm just really torn on whether I should go for another 1200 or one of these. I bought a 1200 used but it's had a couple issues and I don't feel like forking out all the money for one that I'm not guaranteed will work alright. Thanks.

I've already done the original DUO and the only difference is the crossfader, which feels pretty much exactly the same as the mini innofader IMO... No need to re-review the same device...

Yes it will but you need to be light like a feather when scratching... Practice that technique!

This is the best you can get right now for the money. I wouldn't get anything less than these for DJ use personally. This is the best price for performance you can find...

@@_artisttitlegoeshere_7981 The RP-2000 will also wobble but it also OK for RIP and file transfer. You can almost use anything for transfer, but when you want to DJ is when you will see the issues with anything less than an NTX-1000...

It is very sturdy, but not as heavy as the Denon VL12... I don't see any issues with it though.

great review. Thinking of getting a pair. However, is there a disadvantage in not having the strobe markings on the platter. How would you check the pitch calibration like on the 1200s?

Never thought about that. You can test them out and get them calibrated if needed. You can test them by using a DVS system and setting them to zero. I suspect you won't need to calibrate them again for like 7+ years though...

Good for mixing, bad for scratching. On -30% pitch, torque is very weak.

Garbage unit. Had 2 with the same problem, counterweight broke on both. First one arrived that way and the second took 6 months for the plastic to split. Built cheap. Such a shame because it could have been a great unit. Could be why they were discontinued so quickly.

I know the unit has a solid build quality and a decent motor so I thought they would hold up, but the tonearm is definitely the weak point. I think its similar to the V12 Denon, Gemini, PT-2000 style tonearms. Sorry they didn't last, but that is probably why they were discontinued OR could be they want to sell more Denon V12's! They were too similar in function IMO.

@@kareemthedream6084 Thank you, I'm just a bit jadad about my experience with them. I think you could be right about the wanting to sell more Denon units, I keep forgetting that these companies are now owned by the same entity. I've since found myself a set of Stanton ST 150s and had them refurbished and I love them. I don't think I will ever upgrade from the old school ones unless something tragic happens. These new units are too fragile and so much can go wrong, and there's nothing user serviceable in them. With the older units it only took a little bit of knowledge to get them running right again, the new ones have to be sent back to the manufacturer. That's cost time and money.

I sold my pair of T60s to get to get the Numarks because I wanted to play with a higher torque, and although they felt really nice the tonearm thing was a big disappointment. I wish I had kept them as well now, the older Stanton's and Technics turntables seem to be a cut above a lot of the new stuff that's coming out now. I hope they don't start cutting corners on Denon equipment the same way, Numark used to be pretty nice to play with and was quite often made at a decent quality for a good price.

@@kareemthedream6084 Now the company that I got the Numark through won't even take it back. They want to send me a new counterweight even though the counterweight isn't the problem, it's the sleeve the counterweight attaches to that has broken and that's not user-replaceable.

Nu Mark Denon need to give it up on turntables they are not fucking with pioneer and technics especially when they hit the stores this year or next. The closest you will get to a technics is plx 1000

Are you nuts bro, Denon crushed the Pioneer TT's, they are trash reverb fucking city, and these Numarks are perfect for beginners!! Techs are out of date, still can get them and repair them, but for home use and small parties the NTX 1000's are fine and the Denon's are flat out perfect for club gigs!!!!

In the US they are only about $350 each if you know where to look... Nothing else is close in terms of bang for the buck...
