Plain old pink 2.5 size buzz bomb. Got into 5 fish in 20mins on my kayak in Mukilteo recently. Lost 3 by time I got my limit. Increasing my hook size and hitting the Snoho in the morning. Might add a hoochie too. I had to buy 2 blue BBs today and spray paint em neon pink lol everywhere is sold out of pink lures and Amazon prices are high, seems like they're gouging.

I run a heavier line, maybe 25lb bumper. Also on lure portion. Not because the fish will break it, but because sometimes off the beach you can get hung up on rocks. It is my experience that the heavier line helps prevent loosing the lure on a snag.

I agree buzz bombs are probably the most used lure, in the salt. But fresh water is a different story. This is something I believe you should mention. Now in the freshwater streams and rivers I feel the most productive lure is the Dick Knight lure. It catches a lot of Pinks and I believe still holds the WASHINGTON state record for largest. Anyway I'm Envious of everyone who can get out salmon fishing right now. I might be healed up enough finally by the end of the month to get out there. Currently I have a empty freezer and that's not a good thing. Tight lines and have a great day 🌤 🎣🐟👍

I'd love to see a summary of the general areas that are good for pink salmon. I'd never ask an9ther fisherman to give up their spots, but I don't really know where these fish are going and in two years I wanted to do a trip just for Pinks and would love to know where to get hotels and what marinas to use and what weeks or months are best. Again, not specifics but general areas!!!

Love all your videos! Best instructional videos out there for Puget Sound fishing! This is my first year going after salmon and need help with understanding MA13 beach fishing. I've been buzz bombing (equipped with your hootchie skirt addition) and twitching jigs at Chambers Creek, Chambers Bay, Titlow Beach, Narrows Park, & Point Evans with zero success. I even stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the crowds at Les Davis Pier & Dash Point (not fun - I like having space to roam). Everyone said I'm playing the buzz bombs & jigs correctly per your videos. Am I too early? Are there any fish in MA13 - Narrows Bridge area catchable from shore? Been frustrating so far.
@nattybumppo4151
@nattybumppo4151 Жыл бұрын
We are slaying at Browns point and Dash point. As you get south of narrows it seem like the pinks are further from shore. Not impossible, but just not as easy. You really need to target land points that jut out into the sound.

If you want to catch good fish instead of those nasty pink cast and retrieve a herring or Herring under a bobber you'll get Coho instead of nasty pinks the Coho been here longer than the pinks. I think the best lure is a fresh for live herring all fish in the sea eat a herring not lead!🎣
@HolyMolyOutdoors
@HolyMolyOutdoors 11 ай бұрын
Agree 100% on the coho being a better fish and herring an easier way to fish them. With the popularity of the pinks that was the reasoning for that video. I am switching gears here now into September to target the coho specifically and have dedicated videos for that on the way and via past uploads. Greatly appreciate the input!

Okuma celilos, okuma sst’s, lamiglas x-11’s, berkley buzz Ramsey, fenwick hmx, fenwick Hmg, fenwick eagle, most will work for pinks, they don’t stress your gear too much, couple any of those with like a 2500-4000 sized reel and you’ll be set, for rod lengths 8’6-9’6 is very versatile and will help you with good casting distances, don’t go too heavy on the action though, medium light to medium heavy is where you wanna stay, heavy is just overkill on pinks and will hamper your casting distance.
