The music of the '60's and '70's are far more unique than the music of today. And a larger variety of styles and genres, all together and popular. The creativity was astonishingly wonderful. Still love and play music during that era a huge chunk of my listening time.

Jim Croce was, and STILL IS, one of my FAVORITE singers ... LOVE his songs AND his voice. I was absolutely DEVASTATED when he died ... I often wonder what else he could've achieved had he lived. He was gone WAY TOO SOON ❤

My mom was broken hearted but now it's me carrying the torch , I love all of Jim Croce's songs 👍👍

Let's Get It On is captioned as Roberta Flack instead of Marvin Gaye (I think because the following Killing Me Softly is Roberta).
@camerongawd01Ай бұрын
I was like, Mrs Flack doesn't sing that song... but if she though... o.O you hear me?

I was 12. I didn't realize we were living in an exceptional time. I might have enjoyed it more if I knew it was all going down the tubes. I am grateful that I grew up in the 70s.

I will tell you one thing I’m not a Paul McCartney fan or even a beetle fan, but has there ever been a time that this man is not on the charts I remember being a six-year-old kid listen to him and Michael Jackson. I am my mom playing wings obviously I remember being a kid on the radio hearing his songs love love me do etc.. This man has had a 65-year-old run unbelievable

I love "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" by Jim Croce & "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John "Brother Louie" by Stories "Me and Mrs. Jones" by Billy Paul "Why can't we live together" by Timmy Thomas "Kodachrome" by Paul Simon "I'll be Around" by The Spinners "We're an American Band" by Grand Funk Railroad "Do it Again" by Steely Dan "Oh baby what would you say" by Hurricane Smith "Hello it's Me" by Todd Rundgred "Ramblin' Man" by The Allman Brothers "Playground on my Mind" Clint Holmes "That Lady" by The Isley Brothers "Sing" by The Carpenters "Loves me like a Rock" by Paul Simon ( their were so many, probably one of my all-time favorite years with '72 right behind it. But in reality the 60s and 70s are my all-time favorite decades for Music ✨

Amazing chart occurrence on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1973 that will probably never be repeated. Former Beatle Paul McCartney’s “My Love” was replaced by Former Beatle George Harrison’s “Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth) which was replaced by Billy Preston’s “Will it Go ‘Round in Circles”. Preston played with the Beatles during the “Let it Be” sessions and shared label credits with the Beatles on “Get Back.” One ex-Beatle replacing another ex-Beatle replaced by another singer/musician to record WITH the Beatles. Amazing.

I like all the songs that were picked out for this TikTok including: Tony Orlando and Dawn's "Tie A Yellow Ribbon Around The Ole Oak Tree"; Jim Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"; Paul & Linda McCarthy and Wings' "My Love"; Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On"; Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly With His Song"; Gladys Knight & The Pips' "Midnight Train To Georgia"; Stevie Wonder's "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life"; Helen Reddy's and Tonya Tucker's "Delta Dawn"; Elton John's "Crocodile Rock"; Cher's "Half-Breed". I also like most songs of that era, year, decade and of course most songs of yesteryear..
