I had a Dr get visibly angry at me, curse me out and throw the swab when I went in for my yearly pap exam and found out at that point I was having my period. I have PCOS. I never had normal periods, cramp occasionally without a period, and the wait time for an appointment was usually three months so I couldn't gauge when I would have one to book my appointment . Horribly abusive behavior.

I checked myself into a hospital in 2012 to detox from alcohol and opiates (still sober today). To my face, the nurses were real nice, but as soon as they'd walk out of the room I could hear them making fun of me, saying they shouldn't have to put up with this. I know I put myself there with my own bad decisions, but I was trying to do the right thing. It made it really hard to stay and go through with it, but thank God I did.

My mum was a nurse (that's all she had ever wanted to be in her life). Last year while visiting her, I fell ill. I had a high fever, went to the hospital and got medicine. Anyway, on that first night, she came into my room multiple times and I'd hear her say, "oh my, I'm falling asleep and I have a patient to look after." She had onset dementia at the time too. She passed on exactly two weeks later at the age of 75. What shocked me is that 25 years after retiring as a nurse and slowly getting dementia, nursing/taking care of people was something in her DNA for lack of a better way to say it. I pray for the best for you. Many of us do appreciate the work nurses do.

@@danielrn133it really depends on the hospital. Turns on this hospital has repeated complaints about their staff and care. I think it also had to due with certain facilities allowing it to happen.ive been to some super nice nurses , and then some that treat you like an annoyance for doing the bare minimum of what their job requires, like complaining about a heated blanket ? Really? All my really good ones get heated blankets without even asking, yet that nurse felt it was such a big deal to get a blanket (these nurses in the video specially handled deliveries and labors) it was a big deal to get a mother who just gave birth a blanket, and then people wonder why there’s a saying that all mean girls become nurses cause look at these examples. These type of nurses and facilities that do and allow this behavior literally put such a bad name in the medical field and is the exact reason why so many people now don’t even trust their care workers. I think we should hold both care worker , and facilities who have routinely allowed this behavior accountable.cause you mean to tell me this has somehow happend multiple times yet now only once it’s TRENDING and called out for online then they want to act? Till they were caught,They need accountability, their hospital and those nurses.

People are allowed to complain about their jobs especially stressful jobs where you deal with people in their worst moments. However there’s a time and a place to complain about your job and posting a video of you at work in your work attire bitching about your patience shows your lack of common sense. This is not someone who I want in charge of my health care. Do you wanna talk about patient start a podcast and interview other nurses and talk about Your work experiences and share them with the world that way instead of putting your job on the line. Not only is it like a bad look for the hospital but you’re not there to make tick-tock’s you’re there to take care of patients and if you’re on your break you shouldn’t be on the floor taking videos.

I am a brand new nurse and I've been working in nursing homes alongside my main hospital job. I deal with patients/residents and family members that can be quite aggravating at times but I would NEVER, EVER think of mocking them on social media. You are employed to take care of your patient/resident no matter what and not bitch about it. This is no different than lawyers mocking their clients or teachers mocking students. These jobs are PROFESSIONS, not just jobs like working at a gas station or flipping burgers. You are expected to remain professional and not act like a child on social media. Everyone complains about their work but there is a difference between complaining amongst your coworkers in a private setting vs posting online for everyone to see. I don't feel sorry for them at all that they got fired. They should have thought about that before posting such stuff online!

Exactly, more than likely every one of those people they were complaining about were highly stressed. I worked most of my life in a hotel and one thing nearly every training session had was empathy training. Recognizing when a guest is stressed and dealing with it appropriately. Long story, but at 15 I gave birth, my pregnancy was long, hard and no one helped me through it. I was in hard labor for 36 hours and when I dared complain about the pain my nurse would tell me I shouldn't have gotten pregnant. She didn't know my story. I didn't willingly get pregnant nor willingly continue the pregnancy. But it didn't stop her from judging me or making me wait until my doctor came to see me.

I hope all nurses are like you. My brother died in a hospital recently. Earlier that day, a nurse doing rounds was mocking my mom when she asked the nurse nicely to stop asking her my brother's previous blood pressure (taken in the same hospital, and surely they should've taken them down). Nurse (to other patients & family members): "Who am I supposed to ask it when I can't talk to her (my mom)?" Mind you, my brother was in critical condition and was having seizures all day. My mom heard all the mocking and was ready to throw hands but the others stopped her. Most of the people there in the ward were telling my mom that the nurse really has an attitude and they've been treated that way by the nurse before. My mom told them that patients and families shouldn't be treated that way even though we're in a public hospital. My mom eventually gave up to save up her energy for my brother. My brother died later that night and we never saw that nurse again. I think she got really afraid of my mom because she found her match.

I literally had this experience when I delivered my son in 1999. 1 nurse made me feel ashamed, I felt like I was a burden and suffered because it made me feel like I was wrong anytime I needed help. Another nurse replaced her on shift change and walked in on me trying to go to the bathroom without assistance and in severe pain. First of all I had a c-section. There was years of scar tissue from my first c-section in 94. So the healing process took longer. I also was an emergency c-section so I was sedated, not epidural. So this was a different experience. My nurse from earlier that 1st day would literally come in annoyed and always more than 30 minutes after I hit the call button. I was told not to attempt getting out of bed alone as it takes a long time for the epidural to wear off. I paged for assistance getting up to use the bathroom and was hit with severe pain as I started to get up. Immediately she rudely says, you have a catheter, you dont need to get up. I tell her its not to go number 1, I felt like I was going to poop myself. I had waited so long I was literally starting to feel like I might poop in my bed. It turned out to be just gas and I already felt bad for paging her to assist, So After I was done she wasnt in my room to assist me back to bed and I had to page her again. She made me feel like I was a burden. So I asked for pain meds as I was in severe pain from walking to the bathroom and attempting to push out bowel movements. She didn't come back with my meds for over an hour. So later that evening after shift change her replacement nurse was making rounds and I was trying to get out of my bed alone. She ran to me and made me wait. She grabs a walker for me to put my weight on, and stayed with me the whole time. She asked me why I didn't page nurses and she could see I was in severe pain. Asked when my last dose of pain meds were. She learned I went the rest of the day without any meds and why I didn't page my nurse, she got the Charge nurse and they reported my whole statement. Turns out I was just 1 patient out of 5 that she'd treated that way just that day. And 2 were not her patients, just for when thier nurse took a lunch break. The rest of my week there I had the most amazing nurses. They were blessings and went above and beyond to make my experience better. That nurse whom was bieng rude had also reported my husband to child protective service's. Because during our sons very first diaper change, he pee'd on his daddy and we both laughed so hard it surprised our son and startled him, where he flinched/jumped and cried. There was never any cruelty and he never intentionally tried to scare him. I dont know the outcome of her bieng reported other than it was going to be reviewed by the hospital and she didn't work the rest of the week I was there. She was supposed to be my nurse the next afternoon but the charge nurse made me her priority patient, along with 3 other's.

Being condescending and rude. One lady said she could literally feel the baby’s head when she reached down and tried telling the nurse this only to have the nurse tell her ‘i’ve been doing this for 15 years and i know my job, it’s not time yet’. So she told a different nurse that came in a few minutes later and sure enough she was ready. She said it wasn’t just that the nurse told her she was wrong but it was the nurses attitude. Four or five different women told about their horrible experiences with the nursing staff where these nurses worked. We even have a Dr who none of the nurses like but the patients love him, he hates almost all the patients, I never heard a Dr complain about patients & nurses so much everytime he open his mouth I can't stop laughing 😂. People who work with love and help with kindness really make a big difference in everyones lives.

Do you know what's worse than all of this. When they cut your water off for 2 days so you can die gracefully. I started demanding stuff on the second day. Like I wanted to know the name of my doctor so I could sue his ass off. In the end I got to know the doctor's name and I started receiving fluids. It's been almost 2 years from my stroke. I did not Sue anyone because I know why they cut off my fluids. It was so that I could die comfortably.

When I was being induced and on bedrest due to HELLPS and my catheter was causing me a high level of discomfort. The nurse kept telling me that it was going to be sensitive. It became so much that i was just going to leave. My sister went and got the charge nurse who discovered that indeed there was a problem with the catheter. I immediately felt relief. I did not see the original nurse for the next three days when I was still there.

Medicine is so driven by entering data into a software program that caring nurses rarely have time to really care now. They have 15 minute data that they must enter on their four other patients.

Absolutely agree!! I worked med-surge and the surgery floors. I also know what it means to be a patient, and a family member of a patient. These nurses on TikTok is ridiculous- demeans the profession, action should be taken. It would be in Canada. These “nurses” should be fired

On the second TikTok. Maaaaybe the patient was in shock and the needle stick shakes them out of it so they cried. Hell, I’m an adult and I cry when I’m stuck with needles under normal conditions. If I was shot and then had to get a needle I’d be a wreck.

This is the first time I hear about this , I don’t have TikTok for that reason,, I think TikTok should be removed, these nurses should not be allowed to practice at all ,, they need to lose to lose their credentials,, my daughter is a nurse at a cancer clinic, she recently quit her job do to many of her co workers that had no sympathy for their patients,, they talked about them and even the doctor was cruel and mean ,, she go home crying and super stressed,, specially after her little brother had part of his colon taken out do to a big mass he had ,, the nurses took his pain medicine away bec he wouldn’t get up to walk around the corner

You know what, at least the silver lining is that these nurses outed themselves with it and were fired. If nothing, it can serve as a way for them to expose themselves to the people that can do something about them.

ik that the medical field is understaffed but i feel like this should be a sign that if u are not a people person / dont have much patience, then you shouldn't go into this field. the whole job is about caring for others, not judging them.

I had to complain to the head nurse at a hospital to get the other female nurses to take my mom to the bathroom because they removed the porta-potty that allowed her to use it herself, but when my mom called for help to the bathroom, she was told to just pea and poop on herself in bed because the nurses were too busy (on their computers at their station). I criticized them for not giving my mom dignity and requiring her to lay in her own excrement until they were ready to change the sheets and clean her off all because they got tired of taking her to the potty. And then demanded they return to porta-potty to her bed if they didn't care so much. The original nurse who set up the porta-potty yelled at the other nurses and returned the porta-potty to her bedside. She gave me her name so I could call her again if the other nurses refused to help. Talk about ick - you lay in your own excrement and then tell me how it is okay to leave patients like that especially when you're trying to avoid further infection.

You know what - complain to each other in the breakroom, away from ear shot of patients - that's fine - get it off your chest. It's actually better if you do that. But when on the floor, your profession is based on properly caring for your patients with dignity and respect, even if they are being a little ridiculous. Being stuck in a hospital, confined to a bed, and suffering the symptoms of your condition is not at all fun or easy to patients who are used to being independent and functional. Sometimes the extremity of the condition and being confined to an unfamiliar place causes one's brain not to function normal as well. When my pain or inflammation goes up, my brain ability goes down. It's embarrassing to have to be helped with every little need and we certainly don't like to bother you about it. Great nurses understand our vulnerability and impotence in such situations and empathetically serve us - thank you to all of you, BTW.

This also happened at orthodontist. All the dental techs and patients were in one large room. I was having a particularly difficult time with gagging, so i asked could she use the spray. The tech didn’t answer me, stood up and walked away, i was guessing to get the spray, she went around the corner into separate area. One by one the other techs went to that area and talked about me. I could hear them! The orthodontist was the one who brought up the option of the spray at a precious appointment. I called the office manager the next day and she had me meet personally with the orthodontist. He said it was hard to believe that tech did that as she was known as Miss Sunshine. He said he hoped I had misinterpreted the event. I assured him I had not and asked him to remind the techs that he was offering the spray as needed and 5hat it shouldn’t be seen as an imposition. I feel he didn’t do anything, but thankfully nothing else happened like that going forward.

Our code of ethics annual training says, "Do not post on social media." People are rude and yell at me every day. They don't know where they're going, who they're seeing, and don't know where to park. I always say, "I'm sorry to hear that." Could I get your phone number so I can look you up in my computer.? They still act all irritated, but that's their behavior. Gotta let it roll off your back. It's not personal.
