🌼 Hey friends! 🌼
In today’s video I will be spilling the tea about what it's been like so far as a student in an accelerated nursing program. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to share my journey with you all because it was not easy getting to this point, so I want to inspire all of you out there who have dreams of getting into nursing school. In the video I discuss nursing professors, clinicals, classmates, grades, and exams. I will definitely make a part two to this later on after the semester is over! Nursing school is definitely challenging but I am pushing through and doing my best. Do not feel alone if you are struggling! Nursing school is hard but we will all get through it, trust me you are not alone!

Nursing school honestly is not designed to be fun. It is literally designed to weed out people in the first semester. That truly is totally logical because the real world of nursing can be brutal and it will not baby you. Your professors are preparing you for that. I've been a nurse for fourteen years and it's always interesting to hear newbies speak on nursing school and being a new nurse. I guess because I come from the old school era where you don't. As well as you don't call yourself an actual nurse until you have actually graduated and passed NCLEX-RN. You made some great points however, good luck on your journey.

I can definitely agree with you on that. I can certainly see that people will be weeded out and rightfully so. If someone's heart and passion isn't fully in it, then I think they have no business pursuing nursing. Trust me, I'm not complaining but it is definitely an adjustment to get used to! Nursing school is tough but it is certainly going to be worth it.

Hi there! I’m a nursing student in Portugal, going to my 3rd year of my 4 year Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and DAMN, I can relate to the things you say sooo much! You literally get behind in the first day! I am a working student and sometimes (90% of the times) I wasn’t able to study all the subjects of my exams but thankfully I haven’t failed anything. Pro tip as well, as since my professors are a little biased/parcial and some prior information: in my university, the teachers who teach the theory are the ones who go with us to practices (we called them Clinicals) and they don’t forget a student. So my tip is kill them with kindness and don’t cry in front of your teachers because I’ve seen professors ROAST colleagues for crying. One time, I got out of work super late and had a practical exam with a teacher and in the end she was congratulating me (I ended up having the best grade of that exam) and I forced myself not to cry because I knew she could use that “weakness” against me if she was my tutor in a future Clinical practice). Another tip - do some research on your doubts before asking your teachers question because some of mine literally tell us that “you live in a privileged era where you can access information in a second” and refuse to answer our questions. With our friends and classmates and the amazing energy of our patients we’ll get the strength to finish Nursing School but it is definitely not for everybody. 3 of my classmates in my unit on my last clinical ended up giving up. (HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE, English is not my first language and some terms are difficult to translate)! I already subscribed and looking forward to more videos

Hello and thank you so much for sharing! YES YES YES I agree with all of the tips you shared. They are 100% accurate. Believe me, nursing school is INTENSE and you have to develop the resiliency to keep calm even when your emotions are all over the place. You definitely need to learn how to interact with professors that may come off as insensitive. Like you said, kill them with kindness and show them how capable you are! Good luck to you as you finish nursing school! I am rooting for you and I hope you update us on how it all goes! You've got this!

Hey Chi, kudos on your good work. I'm interested in running absn in US but the problem is that my GPA is low. How can I boost my degree GPA? I earned my degree in Nigeria.
@journeywithchi1415
@journeywithchi1415 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. I will make a separate video to address this more in depth. It depends mostly on how many credits are factored into your GPA already, but the short answer is to take more courses and do well in them.
