Hi! New subbie. I’m a RN in surgery. We use I-stat for coagulation levels…especially in vascular surgery. It can also check blood gases, electrolytes, and metabolites…that’s probably what the ICU uses it for the most. Good luck in nursing school. I remember that journey! Try not to stress too much. 😊

@@timetta I love working in surgery. I get to see some cool things. I worked on the floor in a transplant step-down for a year before I switched. I can’t see myself going back. My next job will probably be something non-clinical or educational. I’m almost done with my masters. In clinical, try to get as much hands on experience as possible!
