HEY the smartphone novel is good and popular in japan it get 27 book and is not ended mc is boring but the world build is mushoku tensei level so much that there is a map of the whole world and we see each country at least one time. the story have: magic ,gods, mech , interdimensional travel, aliens, war, time travel and a harem that is boring in personality but nice in design and some time some are interesting.

Also, Yae's voice was...unexpected, to say the least, i just don't get why only her tho, still it was well done. I liked the girls of the show but disliked the MC, especially in season 2.

I unironically liked the Manga of this and I read the light novels up until volume 23, And I'm not a ln reader. I have only read 4 novels, smartphone is one of them. And I don't regret it one bit

Honestly, I didn't think the original was that bad. Not great, but not bad. The anime just didn't get into the meat of the story. Still, this was great.

Yeah the smartphone isekai wasn't terrible in my opinion, but it also wasn't good, it was just meh, and the main reason I believe this is that I barely remember what happens in it. If something is bad, and I mean really bad, you usually remember it because of how bad it is, just like you recall the great anime you've seen because they're so good. Smartphone isekai was just meh, not sure how it got another season (nor how it's apparently rumored to be getting a 3rd season), but it's less polarizing than SAO because SAO was a show that you started off liking, but then ended up hating later. This is due to how popular the Aincrad arc was and so most people tended to like that when the show first aired. However the Alfheim arc was bad, and years later even the Aincrad arc doesn't really hold up well when you compare the show to others that are similar to it. Gun Gale arc was a bit weird but overall I didn't have much issue with it, the mini-Alfheim arcs in season 2 were meh, some parts were fine, other parts weren't just depends. But yeah SAO tends to have a stronger reaction for people because of what I said earlier. Smartphone isekai is just meh, I like op characters in anime, so it has that, but otherwise I don't really recall it. Maybe I'll rewatch it at some point, but I'm not in any rush to do so. I'd rather just get the Overlord movie so I have yet another reason to justify re-watching that show instead (even though I remember all the events of the show, I just like watching Overlord). Now as for the abridged version of smartphone isekai, I wish SWE would do more of it, but I know they've said it's a one-shot. Which makes me a little sad cause I really loved seeing it. Definitely better than the original anime, mostly cause I actually remember it, whereas I don't really remember the original anime it abridged.
